Wat. I can't see dust causing that. Most hardware has overheat/over current protection. Dust alone can't cause a PC to catch fire. I've seen PC's 3" deep in a thick layer of dust and swarf being used in workshops and none have ever caught fire.

Dust + someone who smokes or vapes, can cause a gross, and very flammable goop to build up inside the PSU etc. PSU overheats, and the goop sets on fire, then it just spreads using dust, hair etc.

that was Selling point for me. If it was not the deal I would have went with Intel again.

Whilst on this subject anybody know which mobo maker has the best track record for supplying updates for their older eol boards?

Asus has the best historic support based on them making the CH4 work with Bulldozer.

Yes PSU's do have thermal shutdown, but it only needs a single component to overheat near said goop for it to catch, I have seen the results of said fire(s) first hand. Bad ventilation, plus neglect, and poor environmental conditions = fire

However it could have been a short on one of the PSU cables, or a hard drive etc.

If you look for it it look's like the fire started at the bottom in the Hard Drive Bay, that's the most fire damaged and the rest of the damage seems to be spread from there.

I just thought that looking closely at the pic. Wouldn't be the first time SATA power connector on a HDD burnt out.

Molex to SATA splitters, I've had a few of those melted in the past, nasty.

Dad had a hard drive melt last week , Sara power cable completely melted itself onto the drive . Crazy how this starts , luckily he killed the power after smelling the funk. He's on a quality if not maybe aging seasonic platform
