The backplate hole is a bit weird so I can fit the backplate.

There's a sort of lip inside at the top only.

I haven't built a pc for a while and I thought maybe it was because the backplate was an older design, but it could be defective...

the backplates are standard. i have 10 year old motherboards in new cases no issued. i cant tell from the image but maybe it wasnt pressed correctly and has a piece of metal left.. anyway the air holes makes it faster

If its a Defect speak to overclockers customer service they will have to refund your return postage for faulty goods

My buddy bought a kolink case and has the same issue. It's a pain but he ended up just not using the i/o shield.
