Spec for a friend around £600

So a friend has asked me what monitor to get for around £600 but I'm clueless. He does a lot of gaming, fps, strategy etc etc and generally web browsing, the bay etc nothing productivity wise.

He likes my x34 ultrawide but wants a higher refresh rate, ideally 144hz and wants 1440p, he's got a 8700k and a 1080ti.

I'd suggested the aorus monitor but he would prefer ultrawide. What do you guys think?

For 600 quid he ain't getting what he wants. The X34 is probably the best pick at that point - have to pretty much double the budget for those extra hertz, or stick with 16:9 or... and this is *cringe* go down to 1080p

Acer X34P is often on offer for £699 and is the slightly later model with 120hz refresh rate. If he can stretch a little and doesn't mind the slight step down from 144 then it's a winner!!

Definitely.
There's are lots of 144Hz 2560x1440 monitors, though most of them at smallish 27" size and only VAs in 32" size.

Advance of higher refresh rate good resolution monitors is really miserable...

Isn't there a new LG out soon with great specs and around 600? I forget the model number tbh, but someone should know.
