since splitting from my very long term partner(we are talking 4,5 years now) ive pretty much isolated myself tbh ,my life is amazing and i spend 3 or 4 days a week walking the coastpaths and surfing ,but i can spend 4 days without a proper face to face convo
my kids (growm up)tell me to use meet up but im not a social person and if im been honest i dont think i have much to give.,im fine at work but after the shift finishes (alternating 4 then 3 days a week) im billy no mates(think this bothers my kids more than me)
so just wondering how much time you guys spend alone

Quite a bit but I don't mind my own company.

I work from home most of the time and unless my wife and baby are in, I am pretty much on my own.

before we had a child I was on my own for 12 hours a day on average though I do have a network of mates I see when I am out kitesurfing.

Most of the time.

It sounds like your relationship hit the 5 year split.

I remember when I split from a long term fiancee it felt weird her not being in my life anymore. I just threw myself in to my hobbies and it soon distracted my mind. The online world is more social these days. But if you want real social interaction join a club of some kind, or go down to the local pub.

I hear the ramblers scene is quite big in some parts of the country. I wonder if they have clubs you can join.

I spend far too much time alone.

Realised it on monday when my brother came round to see me. first time i have seen him in about 4 months.

We were talking and he said what's wrong with your voice. and i realised i was realy croaky when talking and could hardly get my words out..

Realised then that i actually had not spoken a word to anyone in about 9 - 10 weeks, not even the neighbours.

Quite worrying realy. you just get set in a rutt and before you know it you are isolated and not talking.

Pretty much the same although i'm younger early thirties...

Barely actually hang out with people spend more time alone on pc / doing other things alone like projects diy etc. Probably not the best....but it is what it is?

When I start talking to my mate he gets this far away look in his eyes - after 10 min I feed him and plonk him on my bed where he sleeps for 12 hrs then I let him out to catch mice and rabbit's - Got a wife but she is always in the garden - I too have a croaky voice. other than that I am a Billy no mates but I am happy on my own.

Some people can't stand to be alone whereas others prefer it, I think as with anything it's best to try to find a healthy balance. If you spend all of your time with other people you probably won't get a lot of time to ponder things, if you spend too much time alone you might become a bit socially withdrawn but if you have a job I doubt that's the case.

With stuff like online gaming anyone can socialise in the comfort of their own home nowadays.
