Pointless parachute. At the altitude they're normally at, ain't going to help much other than perhaps neatly cover the mess.

Reminds me of the first and second time I went gliding. First was great, so comfortable, so relaxed. Second time "Ok here's your chute." "Sorry? What happened that needed a chute?" Also we flew at around 1000-1500' So by the time we'd realised it was unrecoverable, been told to jump, got the canopy off, got out, got stable and pulled the splat
