For myself, I don't really care what comes out as long as it could drop the price of the 9 series. I don't really plan to move away from my current mobo/memory for some time, but no plans to be buying a better CPU at current prices.
I can only imagine the throttling on many existing Intel boards for a 10 core/20 thread part.

Intel’s 10th Gen ‘Comet Lake’ Desktop CPU Lineup Allegedly Leaks Out – Core i9-10900KF Flagship With 10 Cores, 20 Threads, 5.2 GHz Boost at $499 US, 8 Cores Start at $339 US, 6 Cores at $179 US

Comet Lake probably will launch in the next few months or sometime in Q4 2019.

Will be very interesting to read Comet Lake CPUs reviews. Very glad I didnt bought 9900K.

9900K will probably have a huge price cut when Comet Lake launch with $499 i9 -10900KF 10C/20T to the bottom $129 Core i3 10100 4C/8T.

Core i3 will finally have hyper-threading!

Intel will still the gaming king!
No thanks. If and when I am upgrading, will be going AMD.

I'm a gamer, so I'd buy it over AMD, assuming all of that was accurate.

Which is likely isn't.
You game at 1080p? When I game (not currently) it is at 4K, so the choice is easy for me. Even at 1440p or ultra wide I would go AMD. Not about to give Intel more money so they can stagnate the mainstream personally. Saying that, my 4770K has been a beast and lasted me a long time, but that is not enough to excuse their business tactics.

intel are doing this why wouldnt it be accurate. they will be faster than current chips. its actually more likely than not likely. amd always release on the tail end of the last gen of intel often close to that. its how the cycle works with cpus. then intel brings out a even faster range. the new amd chips are great few hiccups but its a new platform so to be expected. for gaming though intel just cant be beaten. thats from someone who will be buying a amd cpu from the new range very shortly.

No, I game at 4k on a 2080Ti, which is why I am still using a CPU from 2014.

Going new socket is a HUGE mistake. They do this I'm going AMD next upgrade for sure.

board vendors like it . AMD going new socket with Zen4 and DDR5 - they'll push it quicker then Intel due to server designs gaining advantage of speed for IF and memory capacity. AMD leading the charge in tech woop woop

10 core been on the cards since start of the year at 14nm . what the bugger is, is how fast intel can react to AMD releasing more cores.. shows they have had the ability to release a 10 core chip in the last 4 years or so...

December is going to be awesome for shoping, expecting AMD to lower prices , intel hopefully getting HT out to all chips etc etc

10nm first gen should be on same socket and have a z370 and z390 approach.

guessing then after 2 years they'll move to DDR5 and PCIe 4.0

Just watched a Techlink video on youtube and they said is their any reason to buy Intel over the new Ryzen's and they said well you might lose 5 to 10 fps but you gain so much more like better results in Blender and Handbrake lol who cares and when the new Intel cpus come out the lead will be further still.

Only way to sell it is if they keep the same platform or backward compatibility with z370 z390 boards. I think there would be a lot of people willing to upgrade from 8 to 10 cores.

If they force another set of 300 GBP boards then it's a suicide for them.

And I don't buy for a second that "we need new socket because it draws more power" crap.

At 4K there is like 1-2fps difference, if that. I would much rather the extra cores and knowing that the hardware is more secure (Meltdown & Spectre). Intel probably still won’t hardware patch that even in their next CPU.

The Ryzen's need a bit of a price adjustment anyway, eg 3900x vs 9900k, especially when you factor in x570 board prices. The 3900x does some good benches but it doesn't always win out over 9900k. It's too early for AMD to price themselves at Intel prices if they want to gain market share. Give it a couple of months and I reckon the AMD early adopters tax will see some reductions.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the 3900X hit £400 within 3 months.
I'm still not 100% sure I should have jumped in for the 3900X but meh. It's done now.
Spent about 300 quid more than I wanted to overall with some of the upgrades.

I wondered why hexus was blocked by the swear filter?

I saw nothing wrong with all news and reviews articles on Hexus. Same with WCCF and others sites.

Why would you wish they do the same for others sites like Computerbase, Dsogaming, Forbes, Guru3D, Techpowerup and Tweaktown if people hated or called WCCF fake?

I am amazed at the amount of trolls on my thread.

Certainly not a cheap hobby but at least you'll have the benefit of having a new system soon rather than later. I just think AMD are being a bit greedy with this launch. If they were way out in front of Intel then fair enough but I don't think they're quite there yet. I still think many also expect AMD to be more of a better value proposition than almost pricing themselves at Intel prices, when Intel have always been pricey.

It was an ancient fall out between the Hexus forums and OcUK forums iirc.
