Right well off the top of my head this is what i think so take it with a pinch of salt and am rusty but,

difference between rtx and gtx well, rtx means ray tracing and gtx i suppose does not support ray tracing?

Hope that is correct, correct me if wrong.

Dan.

Ok cheers or would I be better off looking at a gtx 1070ti as an upgraded over my gtx1060 6gb I’m only really looking to game at 1080 144hz or maybe 1440 as close to 144hz as I can if I get a new monitor that is capable of 1440

The 5700 looks like a good deal for £330. It beats Vega 64, 1080 and the 2060 with ease. I would go for one of those. Above that and up to £400 I would be looking at either a second hand 2070 or a 5700 XT.

Not tied into g sync. I haven’t ever tried an amd card only nvidia so you guys on here recommend amd cards?
AMD cards do need a bit of tuning to get the best out of them, but there are a bazillion resources online to walk you through it. If you can wait for about a month, the custom cooler versions of the AMD 5700 and 5700 XT will be out, and also (hopefully) the drivers will be a bit more stable.

If you are buying in that amount of time the 5700 XT partner cards should be out by then. The 5700 XT competes with the 2070S really and looks like some people are already overclocking them to 2080 speeds!

Cool would you say If im after more of a plug and play card and not really into overclocking go nvidia over amd or just wait and pick up a 5700 xt when the partner cards come out

Partner cards will be plug and play for 5700xt, probably boost up to 2ghz range out of the box.

Tweaking only really applies to the AMD Vega cards since they could gain so much more performance after messing about with voltages and memory clock speeds.
