It's that time of year again when real football is on it's way back. Liverpool have just kicked off their first of 100 pre season games vs Tranmere. Clyne's just scored a screamer to put us 1-0 up after 6 minutes.

All our fixtures are available to watch on Premier Sports if you have it. The Koscielny-less US tour kicks off in 5 days! We're no doubt going to get smashed in most of the big games but it'll be fun to watch whatever is left of our defence against the likes of Real and Barca :D Our new Brazilian winger Gabriel Martinelli will be joining the squad along with some prospects from the academy. Disappointed not to see Bielik join the squad, arsenal fans that have watched him are pretty excited about him but it's looking like he might be after a move to somewhere he'll actually get to play. No doubt he'll be world class in a few years and we'll be left thinking what if...

  • July 16, 2am: Vs. Colorado Rapids
  • July 18, 4am: Vs Bayern Munich
  • July 20, 11pm: Vs Fiorentina
  • July 24, 12am: Vs Real Madrid
  • July 28, 3:15pm: Vs Lyon
  • July 31, 7:35pm: Vs Angers
  • August 4, 7pm: Vs Barcelona

How'd Brewster play last night?
Neither his goals were much to write home about but he showed the goalscorers instincts to be in the right place at the right time to score them. What I was pleasantly surprised by was how he managed physically up against senior pros - he looks to have filled out a bit and had no problems matching their defenders for strength in 50-50 challenges.

Hoever was the standout player for me though. He played RB last night but he's just so naturally talented that you could see him playing anywhere. Like Brewster, he looks physically more developed than he did even from last January and you could see him featuring a fair bit this season. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if his emergence plus the Van Den Berg signing are the reasons why we're not in for a LB this summer - Hoever at RB and Van Den Berg at CB certainly give us plenty of options and free up Gomez to cover LB when needed.

Great atmosphere today Darby would have been happy, we played well considering pre season, ox impressed with his early work.

Was nice to see em up all close, even pre season Milner never stops!
