Well, that escalated quickly
Was thinking of getting the Di2 upgrade kit but in the end splurged on a new bike. Found what I thought was a bargain. A 2018 defy advanced SL with 49% off.
Hahaha, you got sucked in! Good choice though, it's a lot of bike for the money. Guessing you got it around/sub 2k?

It’s a horrible course for an IM.
Utterly horrible. One of the 3rd party software/integration developers here did it, 11 hours and he dropped out after a single lap of the run as had gone too hard on the bike. He said the DNF rate was at 15% for those reaching T2 (as he did), far higher than expected. But he also said there where tons of crashes on the bike too - he saw at least 6 nasty ones which would've finished peoples races. Riders totally unprepared for the course and some really poor riding (he's done other Tri's). Organisers had made it the 'toughest in the UK' and had/have been criticised about how tough it is/was. 3rd Toughest/hilliest in Europe or something?

I've had a mare tonight and broken my rear di2 derailleur when taking it all apart and putting it together, tightened a bolt up in the wrong order and have broken the plastic outer where the cage spring sits so now there is very little tension. Time to find a second hand one :( my own stupid fault.
If it's a replaceable part you might be able to identify it?

There's some on the 'bay you could cannibalise if you're sure you can swap the part out: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Shimano-...913619?hash=item23c0c3d013:g:Az4AAOSw5V5dI148

LOL, thanks I'll think that'll just be a waste of time, might get my mate that is a metal worker to make me a sheath to sit outside the spring, this could potentially fix it.

Did anyone enter the pledge to pedal thing on strava recently? Just got my £10 voucher from Halfords, probably the only useful challenge they've ever had, no minimum spend or anything!

Yeah let’s say that so it makes me feel better!! ;)
Haha, just saw them around £4k (rutland) and you said 49% off. But then again the Giant site still has the RRP at £7.5k! :o

At the end of the day, it's a 2018 model, so almost 2 years 'out of date' (don't forget the cycling new models season kinda links with the TDF the year before). I know the reduction I got on my Diverge when it was only 1 year out of date (2016 model bought July 2016) for 30% off the listed £2500. Still, that's the way to buy bikes! At the end of the day Giant have changed nothing on the Defy, only colours the last couple of years. And I think you have everything current DA series except the shifters? They're the 785 (same as mine) and are still quality, non-series but on par with Ultegra and the 'best' at the time (Shimano didn't do a better hydraulic disc electronic shifter until 2017 - DA 9150).

Good shout and thanks for reminding me.

Thanks for the reminder, @SoliD. I had joined but seems my Strava account didn't connect properly. Done now!
Noticed the same with mine, had to reset Halfords password and relink things/reauthorise link in Strava.

I just did it, says I’ve completed it but only shows 2 rides and even after setting a couple to public ive not hit 5 even with more than 5 rides meeting the terms!
Check the terms, it's outside rides over 30 mins.

I'm similar - the Challenge on Strava shows me as ridden 460% (10+ hours), yet a huge chunk of that is Virtual rides on Zwift which don't count. That total even sounds high, so think it's also included my commuting, none of which is long enough. The 'actual' rides which count are 30+ mins outside for 5 rides since June 20th-July 21st. I've only got 2 and need another 3 to quality. Gonna do a couple of after work loops this week to get it as voucher will be handy as Mini-me needs some elbow & knee pads soon...

After a ride when I ended up borrowing a tube and a mini pump, I'm reevaluating my ride kit-list. Any contributions to the thread appreciated:-

Got until end of September to use that Halfords Strava Challenge £10 voucher, I'll probably use it to buy a GP4000S II tyre, will be interesting to see if they let me use my BC discount too... Could mean a 25mm version for ~£18.

Other options that springs to mind are a shorter and lighter mini pump and a saddle bag.

The new FFWD decals on the 2 spoke wheel and disc are awesome, why can't more brands have good branding, apart from Enve, most of the others are rubbish!

I got one of the own brand HRM, don't forget to use your BC card for 10% off. ORder online use the voucher and click and collect!

FFWD decals and ENVE have always looked superb. Zipp too (but I'm biased) ;)

Some brands really have no idea and have some really ugly designs - look how ugly the Prolite, American Classics and even the Wiggle Prime are. Others are actually quite good, colour matching flashes on their ownbrand rims to frames and such. Or some of the brands like Fulcrum with supplied wheels to off the shelf bikes like the Bianchi's as an example with a flash of Celeste in the rim decal. Or the FFWD logo's in the same colour as frames.

Bump on this, anyone?

As it's just spindle diameter you're matching, just identify that? 23mm/30mm?

Many wheelmfg if any LBS stock wheels BB's they would have a supply: https://wheelsmfg.com/products/crank-pedal-parts/crank-spindle-spacers-607.html
https://wheelsmfg.com/30mm-id-x-2-5mm-crank-spindle-spacer.html

Papa Wheelies in Portsmouth show stocks of various Wheelsmfg tools. Lol cancel that, Portsmouth BOSTON.

I am about to order a wheelsmfg BB from wheelies or wherever I can find it cheapest but 23mm ID for Shimano cranks, will let you know if I find someone else stocking a bunch of wheelsmfg stuff other than them as you know I'll be price+delivery driven lol.

https://www.sjscycles.co.uk/bottom-...g-cassette-bottom-bracket-spacer-25mm-wm0188/ has wheelsmfg ID so could check width from that as not mentioned
