It's got us talking about it and I imagine that is half their aim. Everything has to have an angle now, nothing can just be.

No chance I will go and see it, not because of this, just because it will be awful and I have hated the last 3 films after loving Casino Royale.

Dr No, From Russia with Love and Thunderball are still my favorites.

Yea i love Moonraker though lol i snagged the entire 24 bluray set for 30 quid so they can shove thier pc remakes where the sun never shines. After Craig they will not find anyone with charisma they will cast some wet noodle femboy alongside thier all diverse cast. It would not surprise me if someone attacks the HQ killing off people they can recast. They wanted to kill Bond as well in Bond 25 obviously the creeps with the money and agenda and in conflict with the franchise.

Leave it and start 008 or something new...

With everything going on for the last few months this movie has turned into an unmitigated disaster. Even without the woke checklist, it's going to bomb as Bond films are seriously old fashioned now (don't get me wrong, i adore them and have the whole collection on BD) The format doesn't work in the modern-day as the last couple has shown. The series has been overtaken by the more recent MI movies in action and drama

With the inclusion of the woke, it's going to fail terribly.

For me Bond films aren't Bond films anymore! (sadly!)

You used to be able to watch any film in isolation and enjoy it - the current crop all follow a common storyline and if you've missed one you won't fully understand what's going on!

Oh and they are basically the same as any other generic action film now with little or no charm and comedy that made the Bond films great imo!

They put a woman in charge shessh whats new huh? Same old story removing men and making things worse. Like Ghostbusters how many ruined franchises does it take to hammer it into snowflakers that men do films better than women?

When you state the truth though it will be sexist, I despise modern culture and films i think i said 2019 was my last year for movies they had a good run from 1960-2016.

Nothing wrong with a woman director per se, some great movies have come from women directors such as American Psycho and Zero Dark Thirty. But if they have the woke policy then they produce nothing but crap.

So, upon reflection, I think it is actually a far more subtle and better way of promoting diversity (to the extent it is that) than having a black Bond, which would have been really jarring / felt forced. Thoughts?
I would be up for watching a bond movie fronted by Idris Elba tbh, the most important thing for me is that the movie is well written, acted and produced.

They should have just rebooted. Craig CBA anymore as he has stated many times in interviews, he just wants that last big paycheck and they cant seem to find decent writers or directors.

The last movie was so ******* bad I honestly dont know how they can come back from that and build on the shambles of a story there was.

No charm in these modern movies at all.

I can't say I've felt much love or hype for any of the Daniel Craig Bond movies. It's not that he's bad but they're just a bit flat. I watched Casino and Skyfall at the cinema but more from habit than strong desire. I grew up loving the Bond movies but it all seems very humdrum compared to the Cold War days. I can understand why they've courted controversy even if it is only manufactured and imaginary, because it's going to take that to get people to care or talk about the damn things.

I was against DC as Bond initially, but after seeing CR i saw the potential. However, the future movies and scripts were really sub par - especially the under use of Christoph Waltz/Blofeld, criminal!!

They have turned more into Bourne movies than Bond and wtf is with all the parkour?

Define a bond film?

The franchise needed a reboot IMO. I think the recent ones are pretty decent. As much as I enjoy the Roger Moore style of satire and charm, it wouldn't survive todays' picky and political corrective state.

Notwithstanding the current climate of having to do everything PC/inclusive/non-offensive, one of the things I've always loved about the Bond films has been the fact that you can just sit down and watch one in isolation!

The Daniel Craig films have all had a running storyline that means you can't do this anymore as you really need to have an idea of what came before!

I mean some of the past films alluded to Blofeld/SPECTRE but not to the detriment of the film on it's own!

Agree with the above that Bond has just become a Bourne film that happens to have James Bond in it! (Not that I dislike the Bourne series but I miss the original Bond ethos!)

It would actually, And i would buy it and i know that my dad does not really like movies but he loves when the old films are shown rarely on television. He would not enjoy the Daniel Craig onwards era. Why should they get to change this because they do not like it?

Well tough go cry about it or make another franchise, But why should everything adopt and adapt these days? You want to know a secret? It is not the audiences choosing it is the studios and they are completely corrupt. They are force feeding people bad Bond films this one proves without all doubt they are not willing to rethink only to hijack.
