Good to see that the AMD PFDF ( paid forum defence force) is out in good numbers, unlike the new graphics cards from both camps lol.

If you really, really believe that most of the tech press are paid NVIDIA shills, then I've got a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow to sell you.

I actually don't think most, or any for that matter, of the press is paid off. I just find most of them completely incompetent or superficial in their testing.

I find them the same, sometimes im shouting at the screen as they regurgitate things I've seen on the forums through the week.
The blower cooler is the latest and won't be the last. Ufd tech, which I used to love had become the same,spitting the same tedious news.
I would love a real reviewer who can actually tell it like it is without trying not to upset the companies they get free stuff from

You don't need to be getting paid off to grossly exaggerate blower drama for your youtube channel.

Cooling & noise levels

The new coolers really are aesthetically new. Aside from the graphite thermal pads, the base cooling design has remained the same for the reference product. We've never been a fan (pardon the pun) of the single fan blower style coolers and it really is time for AMD to move to something better. They keep temperatures under control but remain somewhat noisy. Ergo, most people should really focus on aftermarket products from AIB partners. So yes, personally, I would be more interested as to what the premium cooling solutions from AIB partners will bring on cooling and noise levels.

Disgraceful stuff. No dramatics in the conclusion about the blower at all.

True, but it still gives the impression that they have an agenda. I've had a number of blower cards over the years, and this one is by far the best in terms of performance and noise. Sure, AIB is always better, but there's usually a premium cost attached to those as well these days!

I like the way that the dent in the outer shroud is completely unnecessary and even hampers the cooling performance by requiring that the heat sink has a bit cut out of it.

Very bizarre design choice in my opinion.

HIS once did oversized blower coolers, they were more like 2.5 slot and had heatpipes sticking out in the same place 3rd party coolers often overhang the pcb.

If you make a big enough blower cooler it will benefit just like any other cooler from a larger fan, larger mass and greater airflow through the whole thing.

It doesn't HAVE to be restricted to a 2 slot reference box the size of the PCB.

I think it's more to do with production costs, and also not making partner designs redundant.
