Hi fellas. Just really want recommendations on a Ryzen build which will be specifically for gaming and a bit of editing on Photoshop for my wife. Would really not like to skimp on case and cooling, hence recommendations for fans also. I am planning to game on 1440p monitor, and would really appreciate if I can get some recommendations on monitors (at least 27" 1440p 144hz) also. Also with this budget, is it possible to get a rtx 2080 super when it comes out?

I'm planning to base it around this case:

Forgive my plentiful request but it's been a while since I've last shopped for parts. Many thanks

new ryzen does well with Photoshop! only 3600 6 core version but equals intel i7 9700 !

https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/a...MD-Ryzen-3rd-Gen-CPUs-for-Video-Editing-1522/

benches with ryzen and intel but bare in mind its with 2080ti and not up coming 2080 Super - 2080 is a powerful card ! but the 15fps difference between intel and Ryzen on average may be down to 8-10 fps on average

https://www.gamersnexus.net/hwreviews/3489-amd-ryzen-5-3600-cpu-review-benchmarks-vs-intel

few bench marks above with ryzen 3600 review as well !!!

some games ryzen 3600 is 3fps slower then 3700 whilst being £100+ cheaper ! also same test shows them 15 fps slower then 9700k

Thank you so much for the recommendations.

In regards to storage, can i do without the hardrive, and get one of those nvme things? Also, would a 360 rad be better than a 240 one? In terms of fans, can you recommend ones that are not RGB, not really fan of disco stuff. In terms of connecting all of these together, what else do I need to get in terms of cable and such. Many thanks truly

no worries ! I went with White as you've selected a white case :D 360 AIO would be better for intel as they run hot and to be honest, Dynamic NEEDS a 360 rad to compliment its looks

I use black Silent wing 3 fans to keep sound down but they are £20 a pop!

nvme prices now the same as sata 3 ssd but with Ryzen launch, OCUK have run out !

seems again like the ram corsair selling their 960gb NVMe for £125 odd

Gigabte Gaming OC is the price hold i've put in £700 - comes with 4 yr warranty and rep on here via @GIGA-Man

In terms of connecting all the fans together, do I need to buy anything further or do I just plug them all together? Sorry but it's been a while. Also the nvme, can they be used the same as any other storage??

might need a 3 pin/4 pin splitter as there are so many! board has about 5 fan headers. AIO will come with its own splitter

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/ek-water-blocks-ek-cable-y-splitter-3-fan-dc-10cm-wc-9nf-ek.html

nvme is plug and play - if adding after installing windows then you'll need to format it .

best to install OS on it though

Thanks so much @orbitalwalsh. Apologies for the late reply.

I've decided ultimately on 3900k just for future proofing purposes I guess. Just want some opinion before I finalise. In regards to the fan I've decided on the silent wings, could i control them via motherboard? Also in terms of setting up the fans inside the case aio top or side??

I already have storage and memory from Corsair as per your advise. Also power supply from evga.

Looks awesome !

But remember RTX 2080 Upper is coming out on the 28TH !! Same Pricing ! Little more powerful !!!!

3900x looks to be a good chip if you clock each core manually and separately but seems to be a big back log and NO ETA on stock and amount. Seems from 26th to 12th August from other stores !!!

Why not just get a better/different case ? You are spending nearly £235 on the case/fans combined. I know @orbitalwalsh will disagree :p

You are waiting for the 2080 Super I assume ?

Yes the GPU is simply a placeholder for the upcoming SUPER.

To be fair guys, I've no clue with cooling but I didn't want to skimp out with fans and such as I had previous trauma of desktop meltdown. Also I don't even have any idea how to set them up properly. But I shall certainly take in the advise and simply get the one you have advised. Simply don't have any clue about fans and such.

Edit: these are the Corsair ram I have bought, are they compatible with the system I'm hoping to build, or are they too slow???

Hey, thanks again so much for all the recommendation.

Sorry but could you advise on how to set up the fan please? Orientation and such. Also do you control their speed or do you just let it run 100% at all times. Also how do you control them? Sorry for the super thick questions.

morning,

I did have mine with bottom and motherboard tray as intake ! this gave cool GPU temps but all the hot air from rtx 2080 was making AIO at top very hot ! and a lot of hot air exhausting through one point. Having the Mobo Tray fans as intake also shows the backside of the fan which isn't attractive .

I've not swapped to what most poeple do and have bottom as intake and Top and side as exhaust . so 70% of fans are showing their best side . I also have filters so the more negative pressure set up will have its dust filtered .

Thanks again @orbitalwalsh. Definitely will take note of this once I get all the parts. I just realised I have 3x AF120 from previous build. Where would be the best place to incorporate these? Just need to get 2080s in stock then I'm good to go.

I think I kinda ***** up. I saw there are two rams available on ocuk but I think i got the wrong one. There is one that is Ryzen rated but I purchased the one that isn't.

Ryzen rated

Is not (one I bought)
