just booted pubg in training session 1440p ultra preset getting about 75-85fps with the default wattman profile but it made my card hot as hell itself.

loaded my uv profile and temps went down to 55'c edge temp and fps went up to 85-95

My MSi Wave Vega 64 LC was pulling 380w last night on RE2.
1st time I’ve seen it go up that high.

Is that normal?.
Yes.

Can anyone with the Vega 64 nitro+ give me any insight on its 1440p performance @ stock values?

I'm between the vega 64 and 5700XT I feel like with the AiB coolers the 5700XT is looking to expensive £440 minimum that's like £140 over the Vega 64

Right, let's dredge this thread up...

I've finally got round to watercooling my Red Devil, with the Alphacool M07 block.

Anyone know what sort of temps I ought to be hitting? Memory VRMs seem a bit warm, but everything is running fine, and there's good contact as the entire heatsink gets hot during use.
It's all working, which is the main thing. Just after a little confirmation.

Think I may have to upgrade my pump though- it's an X4, which has half the grunt of a D5...

Hello, I have a Red Devil V64 with a alphacool M07 block , I have unmolded die :(. Cant seem to get the hotspot down my diference is like 40c from edge temp. So 40c wil lhave hotspot at 80c and it goes all the way to 60c edge temp and hot spot hits 105c.

My cand cant pass 1650mhz and this is with 340w or more. I can put 150powertarget on it and it wont make a diference.

If the card stays on clocks over 1650mhz for some time it will crash.

I have as P7 1735mhz and 1165mv 35% powertarget (more it will crash the driver) and 1180mhz on the HBM2, I can run benqs at 1200mhz no problem.

My Psu is a 750w termaltake gold Im useing both the 8 pin cables, did ty with a 1000w gold psu and issue was the same.

I think I got a crap die on my card.

Did try LC bios but i get stuter and downclocks

That's exactly my issue too. I've spoken to Alphacool about it- it seems the best way to fix it is to reseat the block, even paste spread, then tighten gradually from the 'top' first (the opposite long edge to the PCI connector) and hope you get lucky. One guy sorted it, hotspot came down from highs of 105 to around 80.
It is possible, but there's a bit of luck involved. I'll try to link the article I was sent by Alphacool- problem is it's in German. I translated it a paragraph at a time with Google... :D

Having another go at mine next week. It plays No Man's Sky happily enough for now- fortunately it doesn't rag the GPU too hard!

Hello all, I'm a fresh owner of Vega64 Nitro+ Sapphire, upgraded from a rx 580 8gb due to having a 144hz monitor. I had to choose between this vega at 300 euros or 5700 xt 470 euros. I started OC&UV, however, it's pretty strange, when I test in benchmarks everything is stable that I try, however booting and playing a game like Destiny 2 for 1 hour will result in a black screen and wattman will be reseted.
However, having a r5 1600 3.8Ghz, I think it's bottlenecking my gpu because the usage in most games never reaches 99%; looking on youtube with similar build, but with a r5 3600, seems there is no bottleneck there.

Currently I only UV my gpu, p6 1537Mhz/1090Mv p7 1632Mhz/1100MV HBM 1100Mhz/1100Mv, PL 50%+, and I have 25k in FireStrike, I saw that 5700 xt has 27k, so I guess It's good.

I have a seasonic 620 modular, hope it is good. Can someone confirm that r5 1600 can bottleneck?

No, I'm gaming at full hd as I want to reach a higher number of fps. Unfortunately, even with those settings I'm experimenting black screen during games, but not benchmarks. I will try to use stock values, but it's a pity.

Only on the one game?

I do recall some BIOS updates were specific identifying it fixed Destiny issues.

Also, I recall yesterday founding the computer with the same black screen when idleing while I was out, so I'm not really sure if its relates totaly to a big load on gpu, like games...

Nothing jumps out as being wrong besides HBM voltage, which is actually the voltage floor. You'd want that to be below the P6 voltage otherwise it conflicts. Tho I don't think that's why you'd get black screened. Are you CPU bottlenecked? At 1080p? Absolutely and without a doubt. Again, not the reason for your black screens. What jumps out to me is you said 620 modular seasonic, which leads me to think it's the m12, which isn't great. I'd say don't pump the power limit more than +20%, and maybe not even that. Also, the 1100mhz on HBM, it's probably too high. I also set mine at 1100 and was fine in benchmarks but some games (Odyssey in particular) crashed not long into a session. Very likely that's the culprit, 1100mhz stable is actually very rare. Might want to test without OCing the HBM first to rule that out.

Give these settings a try and test again (I'd also say, get Shadow of the Tomb Raider trial on steam and benchmark that a few times):

P7 1632/975mv (lock it - right click on State 7 and select 'set as minimum') / HBM3 1050/925mv (lock it as well). feel free to then bench with both 0% PL and +50%.

I don't know if you have assassin's creed origins or odyssey, or witcher 3. If you do it's maybe worthwhile to go in a major city and leave the character there for half an hour/hour and see if it stays stable. have afterburner open to check stats.

Thanks for you long reply, as for the memory clock, I had is also at 1050Mhz/1000Mv and it also crashed. I did experiment with different values and all seem to crash, however I haven't tested with pure stock clocks/voltages. Yes, my psu is a m12.
To be honest, if I will not get this sorted out (OC & UV), the card will be probably RMA'd to the store. :(

I had tried applying your OC&UV settings, however, it stays like that only in desktop/idle, if I run firestrike or sottr benchmark, the clocks are usually lower for the gpu, however the memory one stays the same.

Here is a screenshot of my benchmark, anyway.
