To be fair to Gibbo Sapphire are charging a MSRP of £425 in the UK which may or may not have something to do with the currency fluctuation ATM. Total scandal if you ask me that we're subsidising our colonial cousins because Sapphire think we're suckers. Looking around the ASrock Challenger is £449, the XFX Thicc is £469 and the ROG STRIX IS £499. Absolute madness. The MSI Evoke OC is even worse in that it's as loud as my Vega 64 but no pricing on that yet. Overall looking at the reviews performance seems to be <5%> yet they're charging about 18% more because some of them are quieter and produce less heat. I think I'll wait until they realise the price is too high and they aren't selling and reduce them. Don't think it will take long TBH.

It does smack of robbing Peter to pay Paul, giving the Americans a good MSRP and then gouging Europeans to pay for it. They'll blame Brexit uncertainty of course, but that's a load of ********, it's just good old fashioned corporate greed.

I don't blame OcUK, but the fact is these cards are now overpriced, and I for one will be sticking with my reference card unless these prices come down to a more reasonable level. If they don't, then no worries, I'll just stick with my reference card until the next big release and see what happens then.

That Nitro Vega 64 is looking pretty sweet now

I'd still go for the reference 5700 over it, newer architecture with more performance to come plus the OC lock can be removed now so will be pretty close to the XT at the same clocks :)

The Navi CAS feature is fantastic too, well worth £30/40 over Vega

Started playing rage 2 - it has a fidelity fx option in the menu.

Turned it on, can’t tell any difference

You won't notice the difference even with a side-by-side, it has to be a screenshot comparison with slider. The higher the resolution the harder it is to notice it as well. The implementation in Rage 2 is very subtle. With the reshade version you can select if you want a harsher sharpness or not, but that's unavailable with RIS or with FidelityFX, but the reshade one doesn't work with Vulkan yet. :(

Edit: For the record, I also play on a 4K 55'' TV, and I sit about 1.2m away from it. So if I can't see it, then people with higher DPI displays (i.e. monitors) will have an even harder time. In fact, first time I ran it I really couldn't tell, it was only when I did the slider comparison could I tell a difference. But if you also think about it in motion, fuggedabadit.

I assume if you cannot tell the difference, it's best to play without the performance hit, however slight it is.

The standard is $439 so conversion to GBP plus VAT works out at £435 so it's about £15 over priced if it's going to be £450

If the limited is only $449 then yes £499 is way overpriced.

So you're better off going standard at least that way you are only paying £15 over the odds for it.

Yes mate I was only referring to the limited edition.

I was hoping to buy one for £450 :).

Also any idea when standard version is coming?

The UK is treasure island after recently returning from 2 years in Canada, I can say we get ripped off on absolutely everything we buy, graphics cards are clearly no exception.

The very regressive VAT doesn't help, maybe if the govt spent more time trying to catch all the tax evasion they wouldn't need to tax everything at 20%.

But hey ho, country is very poorly governed and has been for a very a long time some 15-20 years, so expect it to only get worse and worse.

VAT here is roughly on par with rest of europe, we don't have the highest VAT rate by far. Without all our taxes we wouldn't have services such as the NHS, I know which I'd prefer out of lower taxes but no health care, or higher tax and a free NHS

Greed, combined with dodgy dollar conversions and crippling VAT. If I had the money, and the lack of family commitments, then I would have left for America years ago! :(

I don't think I'd ever move to any country that doesn't have a health service like the NHS, I'd be hundreds of thousands in debt if I lived in America and they antiquated health care system.
