Cars such as the road-legal M2K Motorsports Ford GT have already exceeded 300mph – and have done so in a standing mile!


If Bugatti builds a series of upgraded Chirons that are legal and capable of achieving 300mph, however, then it'll be really impressive and a notable achievement. There certainly appears to be a production version in the works, but whether it can do 300mph is another question.

Stock-bodied cars have been exceeding 300mph since at least the '90s, but underneath they were far from standard. :)
