Hulkenberg, Stroll and Sainz still under investigation for driving too slowly.

Vettel also summoned to the stewards for leaving the track and gaining an advantage.

Why does Vettel get that and anyone else just gets the times deleted? Oh yeah.. Ferrari driver at Monza...

Vettel's lap time should be deleted just as Albon's(?) was otherwise it just proves that stewards are too influenced by external factors.

It was a bit of a joke at the end but Brundle was talking about a new qualifying format just before so call me a tinhatter but it may have been organised, drivers and their engineers would have known the margins.

F3 driver Peroni, who took to the air at the Parabolica earlier is being held in hospital as he has concussion-like symptoms and reported minor back pain. Which when checked was found out to be broken vertebrae.

Ouch....

So this part of the rule no longer applies? Ok then...

FIA F1 Sporting Regulations 2019 said:
27.3

Drivers must make every reasonable effort to use the track at all times and may not deliberately leave the track without a justifiable reason.

Drivers will be judged to have left the track if no part of the car remains in contact with it and, for the avoidance of doubt, any white lines defining the track edges are considered to be part of the track but the kerbs are not.

Should a car leave the track the driver may re‐join, however, this may only be done when it is safe to do so and without gaining any lasting advantage. At the absolute discretion of the race director a driver may be given the opportunity to give back the whole of any advantage he gained by leaving the track.

Wasn't in contact with the track or the white line. But hey... we'll give him the benefit of doubt...

Weird reading. They some some angles show that but other angles appear to show him still in contact.

Doesn't say that there was contact, says may have been within the bounds of the white line when viewed from above. So... now their making up a "when viewed from above" clause.

The edges of the tyres are curved... So he wouldn't have been touching the white line which is what is specified in the rule book.

But yes... he was certainly in contact with the white line....

Actually surprised they didn’t stretcher him to the hospital.

Hasn’t been a great couple of weeks.

Reprimands for Hulkenberg, Stroll and Sainz.

Stewards also strongly recommend the FIA expedite a solution to this tyres of situation.

Joke of a Q3 that didn't get any funnier with the stewards.... At this rate they'll go back to the 1 lap show down so no one gets a slipstream.

Maybe scrap Saturday and just draw names from a hat....

You can bet if vettel had got another time he would have had that one deleted

As a Renault supporter I do think a few drivers maybe should have had a penalty, I dunno how you judge absolutely who blocked where its grey though!
You can argue block isn't driving slowly, it's moving around. Other cars can overtake.
Tricky one.

Thought it was hilarious.

So, effectively the stewards have donned the teflon armour and told the FIA that they don't have the proper tools (rules) to do their job. If perhaps they acted consistently first then that would be easier to support. I imagine that it is six of one and half a dozen of the other.

"...when viewed from above, may have been in contact with the white line..." How much equivocation do they need to let Vettel keep his time?

They said “wheel” not tyre.

Basically, if you view the car from above the wheel may be touching the white line? :o

It’s like when you put a picture up and realise it’s wonky, then move your head so it appears straight. Talk about clutching at straws.

He was never in contact with the white line, just that some vague piece of the wheel 'may' have been covering a fraction of the white line, when viewed from an angle that they never had...
