At FreeSync launch, BenQ XL2730Z had ULMB.You sound pretty clueless about Gsync, The hardware version with the module allows ULMB as well which argueably is just as good as sync. This is adaptive gsync not module gsync.

The problem with that being, you enable it, it disables freesync! At FreeSync launch, BenQ XL2730Z had ULMB.

My question is, does this mean 4K can be delivered in excess of 60Hz / FPS, when (or if) the next gen of GPUs are shipped with HDMI 2.1, on an OLED display with adaptive frame rates?
.
.
Only if the tv also has hdmi 2.1 (im not sure if any do yet)
My tv 2018 qled has freesync and can do 4k and 120hz but not at same time because of the limits of hdmi.
If I want 120hz I need to use 1440p or 1080p. 4k is 60hz only.
Currently the 2019 LGs are the only TVs that have it.
Bit useless without GPUs that support 2.1 though.
lol OLED is the only way forward for me since owning my c1. Amazing IQ and seen nothing that compares to it since.Good news. Ordered a 55" C9 when I saw the article.
Now back to your scheduled bickering.

How do you use a keyboard and mouse in front of the TV? I've been playing with options on the Xbox one X and I can't get comfortable at all on the couch, was thinking of a Couchmaster but seems expensive for a couple of cushions and a board.

I never could.
Gamepad all the way, and I got so used to it that it's my preferred peripheral for the PC as well.

For a couch, it's more complicated. A long flat board can be used to rest on your lap and you put the KB&M on it. For me, I have a sofa chair and use a small table for leg support with some pillows. I have this for mouse rest on the sofa arm (https://i.imgur.com/BbmcWTn.jpg), and the keyboard I just rest on my lap when I'm using it.
