Why does it gobble up its power so quickly? My Garmin only gets charged once a week.

Probably because it has about 100x more processing power and is doing many many things the Garmin isn't, however if you just want a watch and a GPS im sure the garmin is plenty

Tbh I’ve never felt the need to have an always-on display. I’d rather have extra battery life for longer (marathon) distance runs.

I hope we can switch it off.

I was hoping for a slightly changed design. I like the series 4 design but itself was only a refresh if the series 3 so it does seem stale.

18hrs refers to the real world time you would typically wear it. The other 6hrs is for sleeping
