Yes, these titles run terribly on any Radeon.

But titles like Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation, Battlefield 1, Deux Ex: Mankind Divided, Farcry 5, Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Strange Brigade are much better:

Yes, I agree with you 4K8KW10. There are plenty of gamess Radeon cards do very well in. With more games coming ouit RTG appears to be capitalizing on them. And those games that are ported from console should work best on Radeon.

This is all of the results of AMD obtaining contracts for both MS and Sony. Thus having developer mind share.

I only wish RTG found a way to improve performance on a few older titles as newer Uarchs are released.

Well there it is for all to see. DX12 takes more memory and is still in beta.
However, again, if you are on an AMD card use DX12. If you use DX11 with AMD card you are forced to Nvidia old optimization that are normally found in Unreal Engine.
So you are forced to wait longer to load until they fix it.

And here is a review using both DX11 and DX12

Yep, saw this in a video a few weeks ago.

It's also why Nvidia stopped AIB's from adding extra Vram to cards, like they used to a few years ago.

AMD does the same thing now though? I can't remember the last time I saw a AIB card from AMD or Nvidia that had more ram than the founders edition

To be fair that's because of limitation a lot more on memory types. Adding more HBM to any card that used it was essentially not possible. The Radeon 390 series had a custom dual gpu card made for sure and I think there was a 16GB variant too.

HBM is part of the die so they wouldn't be able to add any. But Nvidia seems to like planned obsolescence a lot more than AMD :/

navi is using gddr6 and so far all models have the same ram as the amd stock founders card

Ok and? The Radeon 7 uses the most vram but still gets handsomely beaten in performance by not 1, not 2, not 3 but four 8gb graphics cards which means that vram isn’t needed.

Also I’d just like to say this game has awful graphics.

the game only needs a 4 core cpu and look at the usage on the poor 3900x, it’s basically having a beauty nap

The Radeon 7 may be using the most RAM but on this occasion it is not a good thing.

The real point is the 2080 Ti could use more RAM but does not so why is the Radeon 7 using more.

I suspect if I did the test on my RTX Titans the memory usage would be identical to the 2080 Ti regardless of the fact the cards have 24gb of VRAM.

Itll be to do with compression/memory management differences between architectures.

That graph is off. I'm using DX12 with my vega 64 and using the badass preset seeing anywhere from 90 to 105ish fps through out the compaign with only 1 area so fare seeing slightly less. Just a simple drop to high and its around 110-120 instead. However the DX11 results seems fairly accurate.
