I am torn between two different laptops.

The HP Omen 15 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/hp-o...c-intel-i7-9750h-gaming-laptop-lt-04g-hp.html

And the Acer Predator Triton 500 https://www.overclockers.co.uk/acer...6-144hz-i7-8750h-gaming-laptop-lt-17f-ac.html

The Acer is quite a bit more expensive, is the Acer actually any better?

What would you pick if you had the choice?

I'm just looking for something able to play games as decent settings with around 100fps if possible.

Thanks for any input.

FYI The acer is advertised as having gsync but it doesn’t support it on the laptop display. I bought one thinking it did based off the info on the sales page but after querying it with them and sending it back they confirmed it didn’t and refunded me.

Lenovo Legion is highly rated for cooling performance as well as graphical performance. Worth adding to your list for sure.

Also, as a wildcard - look at a Clevo based laptop. They're an OEM type that a 'specialist' site has.

Thanks Shawrey, the Clevo based ones look quite good and a good bit cheaper than the main makes. Very tempted by the Recoil 3.

It was with Dell direct on their site (not sure of legalities on Forum rules and if not allowed mods please delete post)

The G7 is a nice machine but the one I had for review could not keep the CPU from thermal throttling even with undervolting . it pretty much sat at 100.c when gaming and constantly throttled. Quite a few others have had similar results so its worth looking into before deciding. Apart from that it was a nice laptop......
