Well only a couple months till first kid and decided my 6 series coupe needs to go for something abit more practical.....can't Imagen you can even get a baby seat in back of a F13?!

I bought my F12 shortly before my first was born. The first size car seat (0-18 months) fits in fine and I'm sure the next one up will as well. Buggy would probably be tight in the boot due to the opening but I'm sure I'd get it in if I needed.

I had the same issue with my 640d F13 when our lad was born. He's almost 4 years old and I've still got the 640d! You can do it with a front facing child seat. He sits high up and can see out of the window and prefers facing front as opposed to rear facing in the other half's car.

Don't get rid of the 6 series, get a Grand Coupe version if you really have to.....

I thought baby's have to be rear facing for the first 15 months??

Sorry, are you thinking a 6 series is too small to hold a pram / car seat?

Most people manage perfectly fine with something the size of a Corsa.
This.

Get a pram to suit the boot (assuming you’d struggle to put a pram in it which I doubt) not the other way around.

If you want to change the car regardless, rock on, changing it for a baby is plain silly if you otherwise are happy with it.

Yes the boot is massive and adults can sit in the back reasonably ok. Getting a baby seat in the back even though it's got isofix points would be a massive pain.

I found it pretty easy in my Edition 30 when I had that and the kids. The seats did flip forward enough so I could climb right in with plenty room. I didn't find it a hassle at all really. Baby seat with decent ISOFIX base, and it really is no issue. It's only really beginning to be an issue when they are a bit older. When you have to use the actual seatbelt, and they aren't quite old enough to use it themselves. That couple years is slightly more awkward in any car, but actually easier in the 3 door cars, because rather than leaning right over the kids, you can climb right in and get much easier access to the belt buckles.

If you are after an SUV.

Yeah, I would consider one of these also.

They do by law. My son is now 14 months old so will be going into his front facing one very shortly but he's fine in our rear facing (Maxi Cosi Pebble) car seat in my F12.

I take it he is in the front seat w(rear facing) in the car?

Don't want to sound weird but if your maxi Cosi is in the rear could you take a picture with the seat in? Also is that with isofix base?

He's in the rear seat behind the passenger (as I'm very tall in the drivers side). No ISOfix base as that's in my wifes car (Alfa Guiletta).

Picture of him loving the ride at just over 9 months old:

The fit would probably be better and easier in the front seat but I had a passenger in there and hadn't disabled the front airbag so my son went in the back.

Suppose could give it a go.

Probably easier than buying a whole new car. Can also go in the front seat with the airbag disabled.

Do you have another car? I think an F12 / F13 as the primary car for the baby would be annoying, but as a once or twice a week trip it's perfectly fine.

May not be practical if needed to carry the baby 4 times a day, but if once a day, should be fine.
There's plenty of options for baby car seats and prams.
Also if fitting a baby car seat, you can find some protective fabric/padded mat as Car Seat Protector for Child Seats - Premium - Protects Car Upholstery from Child Seats, Dirt and Stains - Universal Size - Thick Material - Non-Slip Backing - Mesh Pockets - Easy Cleaning. https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B073PJHPGK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_zpBLDbB5RXJPR

But if changing cars is imperative, no need for a full size SUV, a estate may make more sense. The extra rear doors on anything than a coupé would make all the difference, and a coupé, even the ones with 4 doors, due to the sloping roof may not be practical.

We’ve a chair that rotates so can be front or rear facing. Makes it very easy to get the wee man in and out. Can confirm the X3 works well as a main baby moving vehicle. We’ve quite a large pram and brought it along to the showroom to check it fits before buying the car. They through in a boot liner too. Great way to keep the upholstery clean as the pram wheels get muddy!

I'm confused op, I have an almost 6 year old and a 3 year old. I've had my e92 m3 for just over a year and prior to that a 911. Space wasn't that much of an issue in the 911, even when rear facing. In the e92 there's loads of space and it's even easier now they can both undo their seatbelt although there are both in backed boosters. I have no experience of the i-size seats, although they will be a bit bigger but in a 6 series (which iirc is basically a coupe version of the 5 series) I can't see how you wouldn't have enough room. I found with rear facing just get a bit of momentum in the child and swing them into the seat, even easier if it rotates I think my wife had a joie 360 that did that which worked well.

Luggage space is the key.

Wife does fine with a 3 series as a daily with the kids but all she can fit in the boot is the double pram and one or two bags shopping. When needing to take more (travel cots, suitcases etc.) my 5 estate was only just big enough so we bought a roof box too, so it was big enough for all their and our stuff including double buggies and travel beds etc.

Sure your can pack light and cram it all in, or you can just get a car with more room and save on the hassle.
