Hi all,

My father is currently making some changes in his house and is looking for a little bit of electrical guidance if possible please? The question is essentially:

Where would you take the connections for an extra light fitting from a two way switched circuit that is currently only feeding a fan/light fitting?

Any help will be greatly appreciated! :)

Is the 2nd light to switch on with the others?

If so, then just take the feed from the light fixture itself.

Thanks for the response.

Yes he wants the new light fitting to turn on the same time as the fan/light fixture.

In terms of the configuration when the current light is off there is a permanent live connection and a live that will power up with the switches. Is the connection for the new light fitting across those two terminals? If so, then it doesn't appear to work!

No, as Beer Monster stated, you need to connect the new light from the existing light.
