You'll lose any extended warranty if you take it to an indy
There isn’t any currently and I won’t put one on it either.

I will probs keep the car for 18 months (hopefully) so I was thinking to service it an OPC so if the next owner wanted to warranty it they could as if I took it to a specialist then it can never be warrantied can it?

Doesn’t need a full history to get a warranty. It needs to have a satisfactory 111 point check and an OPC service before one can be reapplied. If you’re thinking of reselling after a short time I’d definitely get it serviced at the main dealer. It should make it easier to sell at the end.

I used the same logic when I had my old Boxster serviced at an OPC to the tune of £800. Made bugger all difference when I came to sell! Personally I'd take it to the specialist.

Post pics when you get it.

So, Tuesday morning had started well; no air whatsoever coming from the heater when trying to demist the windscreen. No air, no noise, nothing. Didn't attempt to Ace Ventura it into work, so had to pinch the wife's car.

Took car into dealer yesterday, then get a video showing nearside condenser is damaged also. No idea how, car hasn't been anywhere out of town and I drive miss Daisy. Get the car back end of day, new fan blower and Condenser fitted all under warranty. Thank the lord.

These both seem common problem areas for 981s. Why we cant use aftermarket grills without infringing warranties seems rediculous, as the condensers are obviously vulnerable. Hate to think what the cost would have been sans warranty. Still have another 1.5 years left, so at least I'll be able to sleep at night.

Picked my new car up on Saturday!

As I said its a lightly specced Carrera but its in the colour combo I wanted and I got a really good price on it. It's a 2015 and I bought it for the same price I was going to buy a 2012 for. (bought privately as the previous owner had died of a heart attack on holiday last month :( )

I was mulling over it because it doesn't have PSE but after 3 years of diesel cars, I am absolutely made up with the noise it makes anyway!

It needs its 4-year service which is £950 at Porsche or £723 at the local specialist (Tech 9) who are supposed to be really good.

I think for the sake of a couple of hundred quid its worth keeping the history OPC, isn't it?

Pics are terrible as it has rained since the moment I got it.

I did have a moment on the way back from picking it up where I got a red message on the dash to stop due to lack of coolant and the gauge was reading 120 degrees plus but it turns out after speaking to Porsche it was likely a sensor due to being sat for a month, it cleared after 20 mins and has been fine since.

Its obvs been really well looked after. It has 4 brand new N rated tyres on it and the only mark I can find on it is on the rim of the front near side wheel but it minor so not sure if I will get it done or not.

I'm thinking of getting the callipers painted Red which will match the interior. What do you guys think?

Apart from that and the lack of cruise control which just seems mad to me on a car of this price I am ecstatic with it and cant stop looking out the window in my office! :)

Looks lovely, im thinking of changing to a 991 next year, my mate has a well spec'd 14 plate 4S and has ordered a 992 4S which is due around May I think so depending on what he gets offered I may do that, regarding the Cruise, my 997.2 didn't have it but I got it retrofitted from the Garage I bought it from, not sure if its possible on a 991?

Cruise retrofit is possible, call up your local OPC and they can advice - £5-600 from memory.

Looks lovely, although what's going on with the front plate in that second photo?

It had come off a private plate so that was just before they stuck the plates down again.

I'm going to see how I get on without the cruise but I will likely fit it knowing me.

Well done :). I had my first every 911 drive this weekend, and I think I get it now.

They've never clicked with me despite being a big car nut, I like the Carrera Classic and 964 to look at but apart from that don't care. Thought I better see what all the fuss is about before I buy an R8 so tried a 991.1 C2S this weekend. Wow, you can actually feel the heritage somehow and the engine placement seems to turn the cabin into a big resonator what a howl. Mighty tempted!
