Hi,

I currently have the following specs

i7-7700k
GTX 1080TI AORUS Xtreme 11G
Gigabyte Z270X-Ultra Gaming
250GB WD BLUE™ M.2 SSD
4 x 250GB SSD (Combined together in disk management)

I have saved up for a few months now, I am looking for a worthy upgrade.
I have about £1250 budget.

I'm struggling whether to get a 2080ti or upgrade the CPU.
In light of RDR2 coming out and future games just want to be able to play highest settings as possible.

My current games I play

Hell Let Loose
Battlefield
COD MW
GTAV
Space Engineers
assassin's creed
Ghost Recon Breakpoint
And I want to be able to play RDR2 with the highest settings possible.

Any help/directions would be great, I switch between my Asus MG279Q and a 4k TV (For less FPS games) every now and then.

Thanks

The CPU will be fine and can be overclocked if you haven't already done so.... How much RAM does your system have?

I've currently got 32GB - however its a mix match. Will be removing the old ram shortly. Corsair RGB 3200Mhz (16GB) and some old Corsair 3000Mhz (16GB) ones that I kept in there when I got a new case and CPU cooler a few weeks ago.

I have tried overclocking, and when using the profile that Pc Specialist setup (Theres a drop down box to choose a "Preset" in bios, if I go above 4.7Ghz the computer doesn't boot. Just hangs on a black screen. Other than that I've never messed with any ram settings or CPU settings.

Honestly wait till q1 2020. Intel's 10th gen should be out. Interesting to see how it performs or even x299x with Intel's 10 core being $550 mark .
Wanting to see how AMD reacts to the pricing , specially when their x570 and TRX40 boards are expensive .

Might find yourself doing a 2 part upgrade if CPUs come in at a god price either and or Intel for core, and then Nvidia with 7nm GPUs in H2 2020
