Winter Car Kit

Can anyone recommend a kit with scraper/cloth etc for winter? I want one for my partner's car and possibly for mine.

Or.......should I just get cheap bits from halfords?

I once scratched a side window using a scraper, so I'd say avoid those :/

Was the scraper made of diamond, or your window plexiglass, or are you just ham fisted?

Maybe grit? I can't see any other way plastic can scratch a window (or does op wear a diamond ring

).

Dunno what it was but it left horizontal lines across the glass :/

Some treatment, as gtechniq or similar would help. Still need the usual spray, or gently scrapping, but not as bad as untreated glass.
Early morning I always use 2 litres of water, room temperature, not hot as don't want to crack the glass.

You'll have a job cracking a windscreen with hot water.

To be fair, unless is boiling hot, I'm not sure if is even possible, but the odd chip may increase the chances. Better safe than sorry, I guess, specially the pain to replace a windscreen and recalibrate all the sensors.

I always have a tow rope and tow bar, so I can look the hero in the snow

i'd highly recommend using "night before" sprays rather than de-icers.

An anticipatory gummi-pledge application on the window, door, boot seals helps opening the doors for starters, and windows, if needed.
