Picked up this today:

2017 Skoda Superb Laurin & Klement 2.0 TDi 150 DSG.

ACC, active lane assist, dynamic high beam assist, canton 12 speaker stereo, dynamic chassis control, full leather, tri zone climate, 4x heated seats, LED dash/door strip and footwell lights, rectractable electric towbar and enough room in the boot for several bodies. :D

The 2hr 20min drive back felt like 20 minutes, adaptive cruise control with full active lane assist which does 90% of the steering for you, along with comfort setting on the suspension and some tunes playing over the canton stereo make torrential rain and solid heavy traffic for 100 miles along the M1 and M25 a breeze.

It's going to be the perfect car for MTB trips come the spring and summer; Wales, Peak district, Lake district, Scotland etc.

55mpg over the trip back too. I tried out the high beam assist tonight and it's awesome, it's similar to the matrix headlights but with shutters and magic stuff in the headlights that blank out parts to not dazzle oncoming cars or cars you're following. In the space of 30 miles and probably 50 cars only once did I have to manually dip the high beam.

I have a 15 plate elegance. Didn't go for the L&K in my guise down to the fact the rest heated seats wouldn't be used due to kids car seats so no point in paying the extra.

Yours looks lovely. They really are a fantastic car and I would struggle to consider any other car. Will wait for the next model to change which won't be for a few years yet.

Lol, rear heated seats aren't the only difference, L&K gets bi xenons, adaptive cruise, better trim, etc.

The colour of that Leon is lovely. What is it? Black cherry?

Thanks, I'm glad I held out for an L&K, I ideally wanted a sunroof too but they're rare enough with the factory towbar.

I was considering settling for the next spec down , the SE L Executive but I would have lost loads of toys, this is the newest and most expensive car I've ever bought, I plan on keeping it for a good while.

Had a 245bhp subaru legacy before and I don't miss the power, this has more torque actually! It encourages a different way of driving; relax into the seats, turn the music up, let the electronic suspension absorb the road and waft along not in a hurry or with any worry at all :D

Stunning, following the Autumn theme, one my girlfriend took last weekend, unfortunately the car was filthy, its even more filthy now having not being washed for a month, but still a photo worth sharing, can't compete with that R34 though, the condition of that is excellent! :)

It's a beautiful car, I love them and I've still got mine, I'm just staggered anyone would pay that for one now that's all.

It pretty much comes down to personal nostalgia really. A prime example is the R34 skyline above. A car that now costs more than a R35 GTR. Even though the R35 is a much better car in every aspect.

It's the same reason old fast fords are worth loads. The Ford Escort Cosworth was a total failure in the WRC yet is worth eye watering sums because of the following the Blue Oval has to people who were around in the dagenham days and now have a bit of coin to spend.

The difference is that there are loads of E39 sports around from 1k up. They are so worthless I've still got mine!

Couple more pics of my 30th Anniversary Edition MX-5, washed for the first time since owning it and with the power wash I bought (always hand washed in the past). Interior pic too - lots of orange.
