There are B-die 16gb memory kits for £100 right now, so that is a bit moot.... you are more talking a £70 kit vs a £100 atm!

Well for £110 you can have a Guaranteed screened B-Die kit with stunning 8 Pack heatspreaders, worth extra tenner all day long. £120 gets you 3600MHz 8 pack kit.

Or for £70-£80 you can grab a Corsair 3200-3600MHz kit.

Aye, if the 8 pack stuff is on sale I would recommend that for sure! Would have bought it myself, but was a weeny bit too rich when its not on sale! Especially being the same bin! :p (I see the normal price of the 3600 has really come down, it was over £160!)

So the 9900k should be faster but has 6 threads likely not used well?
That may be what's happening, but the difference between 8C8T and 8C16T is ~23%. Which is about what you would expect as a performance increase with HT across all 16 threads with a well-threaded process. Either way, it is neither a good CPU or game benchmark.

Don't quote me on this, but I read that higher frequency is much easier than low timings, and that you have a better chance of keeping low timings with something that has been binned for low timings than one binned for higher frequency.
