Rocking the 2600k in my current PC with a 2500k in a second PC. Both still going strong though admittedly I don't game a whole lot these days and I'm still using a 1200p monitor. I picked up a complete rig with the 2600k,6870, 120GB SSD, 8GB RAM and a 1TB HDD for £100 so got a CPU upgrade for roughly what the CPU alone was going for at the time along with some nice extra parts for a second rig. Just checked, don't even think I've overclocked the 2600k yet :o.

Are games multi-treading much these days?

For a long time an E7400 dual core was a mega cheap way into gaming. On ebay now for a few quid!

That is nowhere near how I spelt it in my head. :D I need to watch it again, classic imo

One of my top 5 movies of all time. That ending with the Wagner soundtrack and Percival returning Excalibur before Arthur mooches off to Avalon gives me goosebumps each and every time.

Ahh now fellas. SixTwoSix would be in my top 5 movies of all time. Me Stitch. Me fluffy!

My 2500K is still happily powering my 1080p gaming rig at 4.5GHz.

I’m sure I’d notice it’s age if I played currently popular MP games. As I play SP shooters and turn based games, I’m yet to see it struggle.

I sold my 2600k only 2 years ago for £100. So it only cost me about £120 since 2011 :D

The motherboard went for MORE than I paid for it new.

I sold my old 4790k and board a few weeks ago on eBay and both went for more than I paid for them. I bought the CPU second hand off here about 4 years ago and sold it for £179 and the board I bought new 5 years ago for £82 and sold for £85. I did feel a bit guilty but if people were willing to pay that..

My 2500k is still going strong in the PC my missus uses and my 3770 has been used in my server for years now. I did think about upgrading one of them with my 4790k but realised neither would see any benefit so it would be a waste.

Still rocking my 2011 i7 2600k at 4.6Ghz, only updated the GFX since then, now at a GTX1070 which works for my 1080p 60hz gaming needs but at some point I'll have to upgrade and I'd hope for another 8+ years out of the next CPU I get.

I'm still using an E8400 overclocked to 3.6Ghz from day 1...It doesn't play Crisis though :(

My 1st gen i7 machine is in bits and cba to put it back together.

I picked up from an office clear out a Lenovo with i7 4790 in and 16GB of ram for my son like 3yrs ago for 100quid. We chucked in a 1050Ti an SSD and another 16GB of RAM and that thing does anything! Total bargain of a machine.
