MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon - needs 8pin and 4pin power?

Mate at work is building his lad a Ryzen system. New Board, 2600, DDR4, case

I've found an old XFX PSU which has happily running a juicy old x58 and xeon 5650 and lobbed him that. Another colleague has found an old Nvidia 770 gfx card.

So he's putting this all together and the MSI board has a CPU1 8-pin and and a CPU2 4-pin connector - is he going to need a more modern power supply?

If he needs a new PSU, whats a reasonable budget offering?

He won't need the 4 pin from what I've read. The 8 pin will be fine. The extra 4 pin I think is just for providing extra power if needed.
