So im a little out of the loop with regards to memory and storage, and also motherboards/ram etc, this is what i have put together. I like the ROG theme stuff so ive based it around that. Any ideas suggestion - is ram okay? Is there a better storage option?

3,600Mhz seems to be the sweet spot for Ryzen RAM.

Sabrent Rocket M.2 drive should give similar performance for less cost. I picked up the 2TB version for <£200. Or you could get the Gen 4 PCIe version for a very similar price to the 970 EVO Plus which would give 5,000Mbps transfer speed compared to the 3,500Mbps. Not sure if that really does much in the real world however.

seeing as someone doesn't like my tl;dr response...i'll pad it out a bit...

there's at least £500 worth of money literally being wasted just to have the asus rog branding...
might as well use that for a nice overseas weekend trip instead

...but if that's his budget and build theme, doesn't it leave him to make the choice on what he spends it on? Whether we like it or not...

oh no, don't get me wrong. i don't really care as it isn't my money.
just saying that the themed build is a lot of extra money, asus PR advertising isn't cheap :)
that's a ~30% jump in cost for literally zero performance gain

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £3,515.26 (includes shipping: £15.90)

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £2,720.52 (includes shipping: £14.70)

heck i could add in https://www.overclockers.co.uk/lg-3...-curved-widescreen-led-monitor-mo-14x-lg.html
and come close to the price of the rog themed build

Oh I absolutely agree mate and gone are the days when themed builds were reasonable (used to quite enjoy doing them with @Ethermaster he loved his bling bling)

I'd probably personalize it myself, custom backplates, memory heatsinks etc...if it was me. Same effect and nice little project.

@snips86x i dunno, themed builds just don't really make any sense to me...
now customised builds on the other hand... i love some of the custom build logs found in the relevant subforum. very imaginative ;)

I guess it can go both ways...themed (colour) and customized (like braided PSU cables) kinda go hand in hand really. It's just down to interpretation.

I did a black & red parvum build about 7 years ago with matching colour fans, cable braiding, custom ROG GPU backplate, lighting etc

@snips86x ah my usage of themed is slightly different to yours... :p
when i said theme, i meant it as in: "full corsair" or "full asus" etc
braided cabling/custom backplates etc all come under "customised"

With my business discount its £2650 + VAT (£3200). I like the look of the ROG stuff, and money isnt really a concern.
