I'm starting to think that Amazon have scored more of these based on the size of the company leaving overclockers in the dust. The sad part is we would likely have UK stock available if not for this OCuk excusivity deal.

Agree. It all smelt a bit fishy and anti-consumerist from the start. And it's turned out to be a complete shambles. :(

Also, if it wasn't for the fact that people still have a choice to buy elsewhere at present, I'm sure the price would have been gouged to high-heaven.

There's not much going by these reviews other than the 2 usb ports. For gaming they are neck and neck.

With no USB ports on the 83A, I guess you are locking yourself into the firmware that ships with it?

I was reading up on the firmware updates for the GL850 yesterday; and I am sure there are more tweaks/tunes to come from LG in the coming months/years.

I upgraded the monitor firmware on my GL850 yesterday, using the supplied USB cable and rear monitor ports; the latest Windows "OnScreen Control" software from the LG website makes it pretty easy.

Just something to think about, should the 83A not be firmware upgradable.
