I've just bought the XT Nitro+ and I'm wondering if a 4670K @ 4GHz could be a potential bottleneck in RDR2 and Borderlands 3 at 1080p?

100% but I recommend you cap your framerate to alleviate the issues. In RDR2 the 4c4t is gonna be a bit painful but what can ye do.

Went from a GTX 1070 to a Gigabyte RX 5700XT
Was initially impressed with it, but have since noticed that it hitches and stutters a lot in a good few of my games.
Gears 5; RDR2; Outer Worlds (though I think that's the game) and Borderlands 3. Works fine in Forza Horizon 4 for some reason, even at 4K HDR.
The games I get hitching in, doesn't come with a frame drop, frames are always high.
Got a Ryzen 7 2700x, 16GB 3200MHz RAM as well. All running on SSD.
Tried DDU in safe mode, removed drivers, re-installed. Messed about with Radeon settings, Freesync on and off. Makes a little bit of difference if I lift the Frame rate limiters in games but then vsync doesn't work and Freesync doesn't do a great job of reducing screen tearing on its own.
Any ideas? Never had this issue with 1070, just low framerates.

I have the same setup as yourself except it's not built yet. I'll have a fresh install of Windows 10 and latest drivers and let you know if I have any similar issues to yours.

Grabbed the Gigabyte deal as soon as it went live last week, however disappointed that the box was cut open. Looks like the contents was checked before shipping and it was opened with a box cutter. Haven't had chance to test it yet but planning to this build my new setup 5his weekend.

The more I look at the 5700s and 5700 XT's... now that the prices coming down since launch, they really are fantastic performance for the money. (Plus OC'ing seems to yield pretty good results)

Really? based on reviews iv seen OC'ing has produced 3-4 Fps increase at best. I think ocing is a disappointment on this card imo.

Yeah, this isn't a card for overclocking. None of the reviews suggest this and from the results that a lot of us have had when trying to do some simple OC, the card becomes pretty unstable.
It's more about undervolting and trying to keep the temps down.

Seems game dependent to me. The same percentages seem apparent in Nvidia latest cards as well, so I comparing like for like here. Modern cards are no 980s or 980tis in their level of oc perf uplift. They all seem to have scaling issues with clocks.

I had weird stuttering issues recently. Turned out to be the clock running at stock settings and for some reason causing issues. Clocked it .1ghz manually and problem just disappeared. Must be a windows windows patch acting differently on the clocks now.

Anyone know how I can force 3D clocks on the 5700XT ? As you can see it seems to be fluctuating a lot. I have read about using GPUTweak but I cannot find the option on there. Have tried Afterburner but again, can't seem to fathom it.

Is it affecting game play? It could be Afterburner. You can experiment just using Wattman. Uninstall Afterburner. May have to reboot after uninstall.
