Advice needed on Upgrade Options

Currently have everything for an AMD Ryzen Gen 3 build apart from a CPU (Other than a 2200G).

Have a ASUS Rog Strix X570 Gaming F motherboard, G Skill Trident Neo 16gb 3600mhz Cl16, Radeon vii (Don't laugh), Corsair 1tb MP600, NZXT Kraken 72 AIO

I was / am waiting for a 3905X and really want one, but not using any of my components yet.

PC is going to be mainly for gaming but would like to future proof it (My 2500k has lasted 8 years).

So here are what I think my options are;

1. Try and upgrade the bios using the bios flashback button to the latest version and get my 2200G working ( though tried 3 times and failed) and then get a 3905X in January.
2. Get a 3600X now and then a 3950X in Jan and sell the 3600X and try and get some money back.
3. Get a 3600X or possible a 3800X now and see what Ryzen 4th gen is like.
4. Get a 3900X and be done with it! (Think i might always regret not getting the 3950X)
5. Put up with my 2500k for another 6 weeks, but not use my new components and hope nothing i wrong with them.

What do you think i should do?

I'm thinking option 2 but wondered if what price I should be able to sell the 3600X for second hand.

It seems option 1 is off the table unless someone can help with the BIOS update. That would seem the most sensible option - you get what you want without further cost and can test the existing components without the delay.

Beyond that, personally I would either get a 3600 (non X) or the 3700X (no need for the 3800X) and just see how you get on with it. You could then go for the upgrade a bit further down the line either when the 3950X has dropped in price a bit or once there's a bit more info on what Ryzen 4000 might look like.

Get a 3700x and if you really want to upgrade then wait for the Ryzen 4000 chips to release next year.

I doubt you would see any gaming performance increase going from a 3700x to a 3900x/3950x.
