You want to install the game where ever you like then go and pay for it, you want it for free then you follow their rules. Seems fair enough to me.

Read thread title and went all OohMatron.gif:D

So the code could still get redeemed on the 2080 system by logging into GFE to redeem.

Yes they do, you even have to download a separate program now that does its checks.

AMD Validator tool which I may add wouldn't redeem the AMD reward code on the 3700X it came with:eek::confused:, it had to get redeemed on the other system with a 2700X!:o:p

I'm actually surprised this is news to you? The MM is littered with these codes and every single advert clearly states you need an RTX to redeem. Nvidia have been very explicit about that as well.

Either way, Nvidia gave a code as a promotion with the intention of it being used with their newest offering, hardly an excuse to act butthurt because it won't work if not used as intended.

***Edit, just seen your post count so yeah, maybe you haven't seen the codes in plentiful supply.

Haha as if anyone actually follows that rofl. If you let your children play only games rated for his or her age, they would have such a poor selection of games it wouldn't be worth letting them game. I remember doing that on my kids PS4's, actually putting their ages and they couldn't play hardly anything. Had to phone up and change it all over to mine, was a pain.

Yeaaah but you're talking about cod, a pegi 18, not a pegi 12. If you're convinced a 10 year old can't game without having access to 18 rated content then you aren't looking hard enough. My 9 year old son has a 12 limit on his account and he does just fine on his xbox. Shocking I know...

Seems absolutely commonplace this and it always blows my mind. 8 year olds getting bought COD and GTA yet (most) parents would never let them watch Reservoir Dogs or Fight Club etc. What's the difference!

Hey guys,

So my brother just picked up a 2080ti and he got COD free with it, so he planned on installing COD on his sons PC who uses 1080ti's, however you have to use crappy Nvidia Experience and if it doesn't see that exact card it refuses to install. I am stunned by Nvidia's choices here again, AMD would never do this. So now he has a useless code that he already owns. Nvidia have done this to stop people selling the codes or trading them, but that should be the buyers choice, disgusting really and certainly makes me question why I personally use Nvidia.

ok, so nvidia bad amd good.

Tell your brother to buy amd next time then

It's the same with AMD you need to activate the code using hardware that's currently in the the promotion.
You also need to install som crappy software for it to check for eligibility.
With both AMD/Nvidia you can get the code on a computer with eligible hardware then use it on any PC you want.

I reckon it is activision that has forced this process so that giving away the game for free with the GPU and people reselling doesn't affect the overall market price of the game?

Exactly, my kids are not allowed to play GTAV for example but Cod is perfectly fine. Pegi ratings rofl, they are nonsense ffs.

Yeah it's for his son mate, I will tell him to try that but what a stupid choice Nvidia made to limit these in such a way. They trying to lose customers or something, certainly going the right way.

They're not exactly going to lose him as a customer though are they? They both have Nvidia cards so they're not bothered.

It appears that only 27.08% agree Nvidia are dirty since they went with AMD.

The other 72.92% of the market loves Nvidia and that number is rising fast. Therefore, Nvidia are guaranteed to get dirtier and more expensive. Fact.

The statistics doesn't work like that. You have people out of those 72.92% claiming that nvidia is dirty. So, it's obviously it is not like Radeon owners claiming it but virtually everyone.

You are quite correct in that it isn't only AMD fans as this thread kinda proves, but to claim it's virtually everyone is a very big stretch as again this thread proves.;)

But they are going about it the right way, It states in the terms it can only be redeemed with the purchase of a 2000 series GPU and not forgetting it's a FREE game.

The solution is so incredibly simple, Your brother redeems the code on his GFE and then when in the 2nd or 3rd step it wants to link to the BattleNet account he logs into his sons BN account and BOOM, Done, No hassle, This is what I did with a friend of mine who I gave my CoD code to that has a 1080, Took all of 60 seconds.

Haha, his son is 7 and has a 1080ti, not that mean ;)

The game is rated for 18+, Would your brother let his 7 year old son watch porn too ? Same scenario, That child should not be playing an 18+ rated game in the first place as it has plenty of adult themes in it, It even has a warning you click on before you play it.
