Got dropped off by the Mrs at Manchester airport on Sunday afternoon to fly out to Switzerland for a course with work. It was only once I’d got into the lift to departures that I realised that I’d left my phone on the wireless charger in the car.
By the time I realised my wife would have been driving the car home, and it’s not like I could have called her to turn around anyway, as I didn’t have a phone!
So it’s like having a limb cut off, I was properly stressing about being able to find my hotel (which was only compounded by KLM having delays on both legs of my flight to Zurich) as I’m pretty much dependent on Google Maps to get around somewhere I’ve never been before, plus it had my boarding passes saved on it, all my music on my Spotify and so on. It just goes to underline how reliant on them we’ve become. It’s also made me notice while on the excellent buses and trains here just how many people are on their phones, pretty much constantly.
