I need some assistance with reinstalling Adrenalin drivers.
Every time I try to update the installation process results in a black screen, followed by a "no signal" message. I'm forced to reboot and Radeon Settings simply won't open up for me.
It is a pain in the ass because I don't need my GPU churning out 240fps when my monitor can't even do that.
Without being able to access Radeon Settings I can't do jack to alter my GPU behaviour.
Any ideas why I'm getting the black screen?
Any ideas why Radeon Settings won't then open up?
It'd been working fine until I tried to update it a while ago, and today I tried again....much to my annoyance.
I had tried to update directly from Radeon Settings previously, but ever since I stopped having access to it I have been trying to install directly from AMD Support.

You should try with the https://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html
Display Driver Uninstaller Download version 18.0.2.0

Uninstall the AMD driver package with it, and then manually install the latest driver from https://www.amd.com/en/support/grap...d-radeon-rx-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-xt

I did have a look at using the DDU tool, but it came with so many warnings that I figure it should be the last resort.
I'm trying a custom installation of 19.8.2 now since I definitely never had issues with that in the past. Seems like 19.9.x and on is causing the issue.
So far so good...(until I wrote those words)...****.

Well, "update directly from Radeon Settings" doesn't work for my Radeon RX 560X, too. It gives the following error - "The selected driver failed to detect the current configuration".

The only thing that comes to my mind is to try with Advanced SystemCare, CCleaner and Wise Registry Cleaner to fix any possible registry errors, and if only these three don't help, just use DDU 18.0.2.0 and dismiss the warnings. It should work.

Had it around 1 month so far and well pleased. Runs cool and quiet and the performance is great until AMD release a higher spec card.

Welcome and on TROH.:)

To get on the Roll of Honour all you have to do is post a pic with your user name on it of your Radeon RX 5700 XT.

After looking at reviews and benchys for a week or so, the RX 5700 Xt is so close to the RTX 2070 Super which in turn is close to the RTX 2080, at a much much lower price.

£359 plus 3 months game pass and a free game too hard to ignore.

It's time to go back to team red properly !

Got a Red Dragon on it's way. Looks a beast for a smallish card.

Is it unusual or is it normal for coil whine to subside after a while of being used? My coil whine has all but gone now, and I haven’t exactly been hammering it, just a few hours a day on Arma.

Yes quite normal that new products have coil while for first 48hr of use.

Can anyone confirm the downclock issue has been fixed, 2/12 drivers say this:

Fixed Issues
  • Radeon RX 5700 series graphics products may experience stutter in some games at 1080p and low game settings.

The 5700XT ref blower cards are coming in around 350 squid.

If I upgrade from a 1070 OC to the 5700XT Ref with waterblock at 3440x1440 95Hz Ultrawide will I see the benefit?

The good ol 1070 is chugging away and doing a good job but when things get going on (currently playing) Modern Warfare multiplayer I get some bad FPS drop.

Not sure if I should hold out and wait for the next lot of cards from AMD or just enjoy a 5700xt - Just upgraded the CPU 3900x

Cheers

The card will still downclock if useage is low, However it fixed stutter when the card downclocks and upclocks, So in theory yes it fixed it.

Got my Red Devil 5700XT yesterday, getting low clocks in the few games i play, maxed out or almost maxed out @1080p. Were talking 400-500 core clock in GTA V. Is Greta Thunburg working for AMD now?

Only way to see over 2000Mhz core is to disabled Vsync or not use a framecap but then it stutters. Oh and talking of stutter, the low clocks are causing some hitching so im not happy, its like i have Chill on when it isnt.

Might have to send this back, not happy at all :(

Edit, btw.. latest drivers.

Edit 2, oh and please nobody tell me to use DDU, i use the AMDCleanupUtility.exe in the driver folder which does exactly the same thing :)

I play rainbow size siege at around 140-180fps max settings at 1440 no issues and no tearing

Halo reach runs at about 350 fps no tearing and no hitching for me.

The downclocking is a issue but I'd not recommend this card for 1080p.

I might download gta 5 tonight and have a look then
86GB :)

Thing is i have to lock to 60fps as my other 2 monitors are 60Hz, if i dont sync them up i get stuttering in the game or in OBS or both.

As for this card at 1080p, not sure why wanting more fps is a wrong decision, i know a streamer that has a 2080ti (he had 2 at one point) for a 1080p 144Hz display.
