Nope thats often when i get home from work. That 17.5c is kinda pointless i agree as the heating doesnt need to come on from looking at daily usage

You guys and your efficient and well insulated houses :p

Mine wasnt until recently i was shocked a 96 build house didnt have enough insulation in the loft and the loft hatch was just a chipboard sheet cut to the right size. Once those two basic problems have been sorted the house is far warmer than it use to be

I'm sure i dont need most of those points on the schedule but hey its a 4 bed detached in the country so it gets a bit chiller than a city house and to be fair the boiler usually switches off at 8pm if not before thanks to pre heating and doesnt come back on till it starts the preheat for 19C in the morning. also the section where it jumops from 16c to 19.5 back to 16 c again the bolier hardly comes on if i dont have the little one at home it would justt be left at 16c throughout the day

btw what temperature do you all get the green leaf? I get mine at 18.5C or below and the heating is set to 19C mostly
0.5 C out :(

12 is the highest i can set ours before the leaf disappears under the eco setting. I imagine if your rad valves in the room where the thermostat is are set quite high it can reach the required temp in that room pretty quickly and therefore allows you to have a lower eco temp.

you get the eco leaf whenever you set it to lower than your current temp i thought.

so if you have it set to 24 and put it to 22 you will get an eco leaf.

Ours is all over the place as I work shifts.

nestschedule.jpg

half of them can be removed.

as in why does it go 15 - 14 - 15 within 2-3 hours? either set it at 14 or 15 once or even 14.5.

again at 7.30 it's set to 14 then at 10 it goes to 14.5 then at 11 it goes to 16. the 14.5 can be removed at 10.

also why the 15 at 1.30pm at the weekends to stick it on 17 an hour later? it will take most of an hour to increase the 2 degrees i imagine.

Because I don't manually set a schedule and never have.

Nest does its own thing based on temperature choices. Given I work shifts shifts trying to set a static schedule is pointless.

2 degrees in an hour? Have you got a serious insulation or mismatched radiator to room size issue? I'd except a 2 degree bump in significantly less time than 1 hour.

They heating up doesn't even come on at the 15 degree set point unless it's super cold and I've got windows open.

Boost up to 21 at 5:45, down to 20 when I leave the house. I manually turn it up to 21 when I feel cold in the evening dropping to 20.5 when I sleep. The thermostat is in a fairly warm spot so the nest reads 2-3 degrees warmer then generally in the rest of the house.

I live in Scotland where it was - 3 all weekend.

So I just got home and it's going to take 3 hours to warm up to 20c from 14c.

It's cold outside. Well freezing. I've been wearing gloves for about 3 weeks now.

So yeah it takes a long time to heat up due to the weather outside. My insulation and heating are fine.

Don’t have a smart thermostat but my heating is set to come on at 4am and go off at 6am, comes on again at 5.30pm and goes off at 9pm. Then it doesn’t come back on until 4am again.
