I’ve just moved into a new house and the BT mastersocket is located right by the front door.

Being a gamer I want to be able to plug directly into the router but my desk will be located away from the router.

What is the general consensus here? Is there an easier solution that doesn’t cost me money to get the socket moved by openreach?

fit an extension/2nd socket near the pc...through the loft , down the wall to avoid having cables lying if poss

or just have a cable lying from the front door to the PC :D

I've got a similar issue, my master socket is near the front door but there are no power sockets near it so at the moment I have the router cables going across my living room one end to the phone line and a power lead going to the power outlet. I need to run an extension cable up the wall an into my spare room but I need to find a way of hiding the cable (I would rather not have to use cable trunking).
