I currently have a Galaxy S5 but it uses up battery charges like nobodys business and also takes ages to charge. I was looking around for a replacement and bought one from Ebay ...listed as new and certainly looked the part.

When I was setting it up first thing I noticed was a "splash screen" which from memory said SFR and there were a few Apps installed that were clearly related to SFR and were in French . After the setup I uninstalled these French ones and then I tried to update the Firmware which was 5.0 ( my old phone was 6.0) but it told me that phone was up to date .

The seller explained it was EU stock but agreed to take it back for a full refund . I'm in a quandary re what to do .Do I look round for another S5 as it suits my needs ( and battery changing is easy) ....do I just keep it and will not being able to update it be a problem
Any help will be appreciated .

Are you saying the phone is crap with different batteries?
Tried a hard reset or checked apps to see if they're using and draining the battery?
You can root and install a more recent android version.
