*18650

IE Samsung 30Qs £3.50 3000mah

You can buy these at any Vape shop or online !

There cheap and so are the chargers !

Thanks. When did i post that? I’ve had 18650 torches for years now

Yea you can now, but he posted that over nine years ago ... things have changed since then and so has the thread :)

9 years :D

I doubt some of the batteries used in torches now were even around then, like recent batteries i have bought - 21700 (Samsung 40T) and 26650 (ShockLi 5500mAh)

The latest torch i have is the Astrolux EC01 (5000k) for £20 and £7.99 for a Samsung 40T 21700 battery it’s probably quite hard to beat...this

Astrolux EC01 XHP50B-3V 3500LM 298m Anduril UI USB-C Rechargeable IPX8 Waterproof 21700 18650 LED Flashlight

Is there a source for that 26650, I'm waiting forever for this one to be in stock

A price so low for a decent torch like the astrolux makes 90% of the fall apart clones on amazon pointless. Unless sterling gains drastically in next few months that could be the best bang for the buck for a while.

The ShockLi were £17.50 for 2 on eBay.
Doing purchase similar the keeppower above appear in stock at £28.50 for 2...

Guess I messed up as I saw keeppower well under 10, should have grabbed it when in stock. Perhaps the ShockLi is better anyway

At 30A they reached 86°C before the fuse blew.

For vapers that want to use 30A, this fuse is no problem, I draw 30A for about 8 minutes continuous before it blew.
Would most torches or one like astrolux allow this to happen or scale it down a lot sooner

£10? Probably for 1 and shipped from HK/China and the possibility of it being fake then yes.
I would rather pay slightly more for an item from a known uk seller & uk shipped

I've still got my BLF A6 Special Edition light as recommended in this thread three years ago.

Is there anything more powerful for the same size and similar price? This has been a really good torch for me, but I keep using it in turbo mode all the time. :D

Really considering this torch to replace my BLF A6, so thanks for the details!

Did you source your Samsung 40T batteries from eBay? If so, can you link to the ones you bought as I'd rather not buy fakes.

It looks as though my trusty Xtra VC4 charger can charge 21700 batteries. Very pleased about that, as it means I don't need to buy another charger.
