I’ve just set myself up with a US address to have some items shipped over from Florida a lot cheaper than direct from the retailer.

Same - I'll normally have a couple but due to the medication for my arm, I've not had a drop since the first week in December and I haven't missed it. Much.
Apart from the odd Budweiser here and there I’m not a drinker at all anymore.

It has been 5+ years since I went out and had a good drinking session, I tried it last year but the noise and how overcrowded it was just put me off and I was home within 2 hours.

I’ll probably wish I was like you at 9am when I feel like my heads being caved in with a sledgehammer!

Explaining to my elderly mother why there is no light on her hot water bottle. And no switch either. And no light, and no switch. For about 10 minutes before she settled.

7 months this has been going on for. Hospitalized twice. Nothing wrong apparently - just treat "an infection" and the physical symptoms when she ***** herself up, and that's that - discharged from hospital, back home and then within a week or so back to periodic and regular severe confusion, especially in the evenings, until she ***** herself up again. The last time I found her on her bedroom floor, looking for my father (who's dead).

It's certainly character building.

This reminds me so much of my late nan, bless her. In her last years she slept in our living room a lot. I had to go round making sure all the lights were off. TV standby, modem, Sky box, you name it, it had to be off before she’d settle.

I've edited to add more but that's not even 1%. I'm in my late 40's and I've been around but I can say without a doubt that the last year has been the most intense and relentless stress I've ever experienced.

Paging @Acme , I know you don't sleep :D

Just got in from a proper night out. Went with friends to other friends house, rang in new year with a good bunch, went to an actual industrial estate rave. The music was actually quite good  Had a good dance, bonded with girlfriend and friends, home happy. First time out for new years since maybe 2010!

Lol, sounds good! I just went to my usual bar and drank and socialised and danced and made a fool of myself til about 4am then walked with a friend back to their place via Subway which was unbelievably still open. Footlong chicken and bacon cheese and toasted with lettuce sweetcorn and chicory bbq later, I feel much better.

Now laying half asleep on my friends sofa bed. Will have to get Dad to rescue me in the morning. :p
