hello, at the moment I don't need a fancy overclock, just a decent increase to contribute to gaming. do you think is it possible to hit 4GHz with a simple Multiplier increase with this cpu and cooler?

thanks for any advice

EVGA X99 Micro
Multiplier "43"
Voltage "Adaptive"
Voltage offset "105"

So I changed the multiplier to 43, changed voltage to "adaptive" and had to increase the offset to 105 until it became stable.

4.3GHz with 1.235v and Max load temps 65 degrees.

What do you think of this?

Is there anyway to shave voltage off outside of changing these basic settings?

Iv now run into a problem.

When I hit the power button it's stuck at post and making a clicking sound like it's stuck in a post loop.

I tryed the clear cmos button but did not fix. Iv just took the battery out to see if that resets it.

Any other ideas if battery fails?

It's start by disconnecting things from the system. All except 1 stick of ram, any additional HDDs other than boot, any PCI components etc. Assuming your board has a video out? Once it's booted add one thing at a time, it might be that your psu isn't up to the task.
