Noteworthy that the only card of the three you can use in mGPU is the 1080ti. 1080ti SLI pi$$es all over all alternatives where supported for a far better price. Not surprised mGPU is no longer supported, it's the best way to get decent fps at a decent price hence the duopoly won't allow it. AMD/Nvidia (in no particular order) are having a laugh by stopping supporting the best value option in the GPU space. I'm running RDR2 all ultra except MSAA at 2560/1440 at 79fps. That's with 2 cards from March 2017! Both of mine steaming ahead at 1962/1949 core clock consistently in games.

Conspiracy Theory nonsense. Turing supports SLI just fine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cbvFb0IHTg0

SLI/xfire simply does';t work on many modern rendering engines, and with DX12 SLI support is up to the developers.
It is simple economics. Almost no one owns an SLI setup so no one is willing to invest in it.

Abject twaddle the 2070S DOES not support SLI. Take a look at one there's no SLI connector. Try doing some research before spouting rubbish.

You're now specifying which ones of Turing do and don't. Turing as an architecture supports it fine and some cards in the lineup do too. I don't see how what he said is rubbish as a result.

mGPU will be less and less used though because there's no incentive for devs to code for it.

I don't see this coming out 2020, I think AMD will need the capacity for game consoles. When the main line Ryzen processor chiplets move on to 5nm. Maybe then I think we shall see large GPU's from AMD. A whole new line with RT from the top of the stack down. I don't think Nvidia will be putting out large 7nm cards this year also. I think it's more probable that Nvidia will focus on smaller chips, more for the mobile market.

Connect two NVLink SLI-ready graphics cards with 50X the transfer bandwidth of previous technologies. You can count on super-smooth gameplay at maximum resolutions with ultimate visual fidelity in GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, 2080 SUPER, 2080, and 2070 SUPER graphics cards.

ZERO chance of cheaper Ampere cards. Expect them to be £1300 and above....minimum. Sure the 2080Ti are all 1100 or more

Hell no. Anyone expects RTX3080Ti cost anything less than £1500 is crazy. Assuming it isn't a sidegrade to 2080Ti, without chopped parts.

Nvidia would have serious yield issues trying to make at 7nm those 12nm 775mm2. Already has yield issues at 12nm process with 775mm2, like Intel has at the 14nm++ with their 698mm2 CPUs. Best yields are around 23%. And that reflects on the prices we see today.

It will cost less and no I am not crazy. It will just be a smaller die size.

The 2080ti on 7nm+ would be 500mm2 - same size as the 5950xt.

If a big die 3080ti is impossible as you say, then it's also impossible for AMD to build a high end Navi gpu.

You can't have it all your way - either the 3080ti and 5950xt will both be great or they both will suck. So which is it?

5950XT etc is rumour and click bait articles from someone on XYZ forum in China posted something. There is nothing concrete about this chip that we can rely on as FACT.

However as FACTs we know a shrank 2080Ti is 520mm2 and TSMC maximum 7nm EUV die is 419mm2. These are FACTS not wild click bait guesses like the size of the non existant 5950XT.

And before you come back pointing at articles like this
https://wccftech.com/mysterious-amd...spotted-in-eec-registration-is-this-big-navi/

That EEC registration was again posted back in July 2019!!!!!! Any RDNA2 GPU, 1 year later would be on the 6000 series not 5000 series.

You shouldn't have made that post because it will hunt you in few months time :p

ER surely a shrunken 2080ti is a non existent GPU anyway so how can it be a fact?

Whoever it was that worked out the estimated size on the 7nm node or the 7nm+ node is just using best guess anyway, so far from a fact as they don't actually exist and if they do NVidia certainly haven't said anything about it.

Your statement was Turign doesn;t support SLI unlike your 1080ti. Well,m the 1080ti replacement supports SLI just fine.

You are the one spouting abject twaddle

It would be much smaller.

In theory, 7nm is 70% reduction in die area compared to 16nm (i.e, it will be less than 1.3rd the size), and the 7nm+ is another 17% reduction. Add them up and a 2080ti on 7nm+ would be under 200mm^2.
But Nvidia wouldn't; aim for maximum density, something like 300mm^2 for a 2080ti

Yes I was, I was mistaken as the 2070 doesn't support it I assumed the 2070S didn't, my bad.
