So I need a silent as possible ATX build and wondered if you guys could spec me one up,

No keyboard mouse or monitor etc

ATX Motherboard + Case

AIO Cooler for the CPU (if its not gonna be silent enough :p )

Ryzen CPU

16GB / 32GB

1TB M.2 (if ATX boards allow m.2 slots)

and maybe a mini GPU if the cpu doesn't have on board gpu?

Sub £1k would be ideal.

Since it's for VMs and you don't need especially fast cores just plenty of cores/threads (and RAM), I figure the 2700X makes sense at about half the cost of the 3700X.

Does need a GPU. There's a lot of (new) rubbish under £50 (GDDR3) and then GDDR5 above £50. Would honestly get something second-hand from the MM for below £50. Some GTX 1050 or something.

The cooler is quiet and it would match the case.

Those 2 x 120mm fans are daisy-chainable so no need for an adapter to use the total of 3 fans on that board.

Replacing the 2700X with a 3900X 12-core/24-thread would take you to about £1,050 (+ a GPU). Good chance the mobo will have updated BIOS for Ryzen 3000 but it's no certainty.

Thanks but been told this isn't powerful enough think the more powerful cpu would be a better shout
