IMO they are priced right. You cant compare a discounted blower fan model of a 5700 to a aftermarket cooler of a 5600xt. Look what you can get for the price really nice price range for almost -4% of the performance of a 5700. Yet much cheaper 40-50pounds cheaper.

I wasn't comparing a 'discounted blower model'. I was comparing an AIB twin fan model. And in fairness, it has now gone back upto $319.

Had this lying around (4K max & SMAA T2x). So my results shows 20% better performance as V64 (Nitro+). And I'm pretty sure I had some settings even higher than them & ofc a worse CPU.

Ah man they were one of the only ones I DIDNT check out . Typical lol

More of a side grade for me, I'll skip it for this gen I think and stick to the 64 in the mean time.

so pretty much a 2060 6gb a year later and a couple quid shaved off, typical. Big Navi better not be matching the 2080ti with a couple quid shaved off or im off to buy an RTX 3070/3080 instead of waiting another year or two for AMDs response to those

What do you mean typical? I don't understand what the problem with them having competition in the sector is. Better late than never and it's quicker than a 2060 so I see no issue.

Its a few % faster than the already price reduced RTX 2060 and about £20 cheaper.

Its the best price to performance ratio card on the market, the fastest Sub £300 card.

We have to be pragmatic, i think AMD did quite well here, we can't expect them to give their cards away, AMD need money to develop their technology just as much as Nvidia do.

The GTX1650 is cheaper than the RX5500XT and the GTX1660 and GTX1660 Super cost the same. Nvidia basically has the £150 to £225 market IMHO.

I absolutely agree with this.

1650 Super wins against 4GB 5500XT. (The 4GB 5500 XT gets killed with PCI-E 3.0 x8 lanes, so unless you have a pci-e 4.0 board.. you often drop many more frames than needed.)

1660 and super..... covering against the 5500 XT for same price (on the street), and performance better.

AMD just priced their parts too high, and made a mistake (IMO) with the 4GB 5500.

Yeah AMD need to look at that, big share down there with lots and lots of cards sold generally.

Luckily they have the RX570 and RX580 between £100 to £150,but I don't see the point of the RX5500XT outside of laptops.

What worries me is Nvidia has a very easy target when Ampere is released, as they don't need a big performance improvement to make the current AMD line-up look staid. Nvidia just need to bump up performance by 20% to 30% and it will be enough.

Going to take the plunge and buy this for my first build. Had tossed up a RX 5700 and RTX 2060 but decided for the more recent release after reading the positive reviews around the net so far (and lower cost). One query is if its backwards compatible PCIe 3.0 and my motherboard MSI B450 Carbon Pro is PCIe 3.0, are there any hidden pitfalls/tricks/updates to make this work out of the box or is it plug and play? Would there be any performance issues from that?
