Metro Exodus - c0000005 - memory access violation crash after 20 hour.

Monitor:AORUS AD27QD

Cpu: i7-9900K stock 4.7 with Noctua NH-D15

Gpu: Rtx 2080 Ti Aorus Xtreme Waterforce ( stock no oc,temps max 63C on load )

Ram: 32gb 2x16 GB DDR4 GSKILL 3000MHZ XMP

Psu: Seasonic Ultra Prime Titanium 850W

mobo: Asus Prime Z390-A

SSD: Crucial 1TBHDD: WB BLUE 1 TB

Case: Cooler Master Cosmos C700P

Hello. I have a question. I left running Metro Exodus for hours ,when i go to work. When i back after 21 hours i see it crashed exactly on 20 hour in running. I left running game in EPISODE

ESERT ( 3 ).

Crash is something about c0000005 - memory access violation.

NULL POINTER WRITE.

Not driver crash. Event log nothing about driver crash. Just BUGTRAP crash.

Is my hardware ok? I dont have any crashes in other games or benches. Realbench passing too ,memtest no errors. I am on newest nvidia drivers.Using MSI AFTERBURNER + RTSS.

But i had cpu overclocked to 5ghz now actually i have 4,7stock . Also is this reason to check Prime95? But i dont have issues with realbench and memtest86,RAMTEST no errors.

Did you hard reset your bios? battery out... hard reset.

I have had instances of BIOS issues that would just recover without it. (I haven't even checked the pic... just mentioning it)

Why are you leaving a high system utilization program (game) on for 20hrs whilst away from the PC?

Worry! Take PC apart and reassemble is the best policy if you're at a loose end and need to make sure PC is OK.

Next time just save the game and quit then turn off pc.

Also wow you were busy posting this post everywhere on the net, nvidia, reddit, gamespot etc.

My bet is power saving features kicked in after no input activity tho im not sure they suppose to kick in when a game is on.

OK happened again but this time after 30 hours. Crashdumps are in Metro Exodus save games folder.

But i tested memtest86,RAMTEST,REALBENCH and no issues.

No in other games.Other games i can run 24h no crash.

real question is why are you leaving the game open for 30 hours. waste of electricity even if it's cheap.

could just be the game engine itself crashing after that long, since no one is gonna play it for 24hr+ straight it's not an mmo

Yes no reason to leave a pc on that long, dont be lazy and do the world a fav and turn things off if your not using them. There is a save feature in games, please use it.

Do you turn off your monitor/TV? Only time my PC ever crashes is if I've passed out on the sofa and the TV powers off. I switch it back on but by that point the game's crashed. My 2080Ti doesn't seem to like losing the connection to the display while running full screen mode.

However, as said at least twice already, save the game and turn it off rather than leaving it running for 20-30 hours.
