ASUS VG248QE to ???

I have the following rig and will upgrade CPU, RAM and MOBO next year after advice I received on this board.



I would like to step up to a QHD monitor but worried about suitability for gaming compared to my current 1080p monitor. I am a casual gamer for BF5 and the odd AAA game but tend to use the PC for general work (Photoshop, video editing, web browsing, programming etc).

Can anyone recommend a good place to start my screen search? I can't justify an insane amount of money on the screen so probably <£600 if possible. I would like a balance whereby I don't suddenly notice a increase in lag / drop in refresh rate which usually sits at 90FPS in games. I am thinking of a size increase also.

This would be one of the best response time monitors and actually competing with many TNs despite of being IPS.

Though if you like dim/dark room, then IPS isn't great.
For all the marketing hype BS monitors still haven't matched old CRT and many things.

Take a look at the MSI Optix MAG272QR
Launching in a few days and it has some very good specs (1440p 165hz 1ms) for only £280
I'm certainly picking it up when it drops
