So I'm building a little itx rig to use with my LG TV and want it to be fairly powerful and upgradable. Will eventually run 4k @120hz when the new GPUs come out with HDMI 2.1

The b450 max board got Great reviews. Its also cheap and seems it will support the 3900x but will it support the 4th generation...

The asus Rog strix is obviously future proof but it comes at a hefty cost! At almost £200 more...

It might turn into my main rig if I decide to downsize.

Any thoughts?

Thanks! I was looking at that one but then i was watching Buildzoid videos on top mITX boards be put ROG Strix X570-I and the ASRock X570 as the best boards.

Will have to do more research.

If going ITX you could save some cash with the MSI one below. See if ocuk can confirm whether it has an up to date bios as there is no bios flashback on this board. I would imagine by now it would have an up to date bios, but best to check. Should handle a stock 3900X if you went down that route in the future.

Strix ITX is 5k Chinese Caps, The ROG and Aorus are 10k Jap Caps :)

advantage of Aours is UK RMA for their boards, not EU .

as lee mentioned, MSI B450 is 6 phases at 60amps if i recall !!!!! better then most x470 boards at that ! but doesn't have quick flash button.

Ok thanks, im leaning towards the Aorus one now!

if the aorus and £43 saving be put to good use then great ! specially if your able to kick up 32gb of ram instead of 16gb etc etc .

would also stick to Ryzen 3600 and then jump to 4th Gen Ryzen come Q3 this year. saves a lot of cash in the long run ;) specially when potentially £250 going from 3600 to 3900 to 4*** could be put on 4K GPU .

also x570 has better wifi - less cables !

weirdly enough, thats exactly what im doing. 3600 is cheap and will do me until 4***. I already have spare parts including 32gig of ram from a previous machine.

nice- 3700 would be the middle ground if you know your playing games like BFV etc that do use cores ! or multitasking/streaming etc
