I've been using a 32' 1080p samsung TV for gaming and working for the last few years and just ordered an MSI MAG271CQR 27' along with a new PC build to crush cyberpunk when it drops. i'm curious though how big a noticable jump is is going from the two?

everything looked more crisp when i made the jump although i went from 27inch 1080p 144hz monitor to 27inch 1440p 144hz monitor.

going from a 60hz tv to 144hz and 1440p on top of that should be very noticeable.

If you have the power to keep the framerate 100+ then it is a huge upgrade. One of the biggest upgrades I’ve ever made and you will never go back to 60hz. It is just ridiculously smooth, almost like looking around with your own eyes. Whereas 60hz feels quite choppy. 1440p is much crisper.

Sweet I'm hyped! Annoyingly I am waiting on it as I ordered it with a PC build and it's out of stock right now. Ive got to wait for it to come back in stock to get all my build as I bought through finance..

I made the same switch recently and would never go back now, paired with a 1080Ti and capping out the FPS it's as smooth as you can get, certainly noticeable in "busy" games with lots of camera panning etc.

It's absolutely stunning..... for the first couple of weeks.
Then you get used to it and barely notice the difference, except when you first see the environments of a new game or benchmark. Then it's awesome once more, for the next hour or so.

Night and day difference, went from a 27" 1080/60hz to 27" 1440/144hz

1440p v 1080p is night and day. You will never go back once you have those 360 extra lines of pixels. Makes web pages and documents so much easier to handle.
Also the dot pitch will make everything look so much better. Bascially 1080 on a 24" monitor will look the same as 1440p on a 32" monitor. So 1440p on a 27" monitor looks really crisp.
You can compare dot pitches here: https://www.sven.de/dpi/

The jump is amazing, you can't back. I disagree with an earlier comment that you barely notice the difference after a while, I run a 1080p monitor alongside my Aorus and the difference is stark in everything. In gaming 144hz 2560x1440 really shines.

The biggest single upgrade I've made in years.

I'd say its a massive jump you will find games look a lot nicer and smoother on the eyes - I'd also like to add that 4k looked over kill and too shape for games from up close. 4K is Great for movies but I dont like how shape it looks for games , 1440 is the sweet Spot & I plan to play at that res for a long time until 4k runs well over 60 FPS on ultra I may then make the jump.

1440p is cleaner, sharper but it isn’t worth it over a high FPS imo. My AW2518HF for example is so smooth that I don’t mind losing the higher resolution. I do think 1440 144hz is the perfect spot for gaming.

60hz is horrible for games IMO that require mouse and keyboard.

I went from 1080p to 1440p 75Hz, was a nice difference. I then went to 1440p 144Hz, and IMO the change to 144Hz was much more noticeable than the resolution increase.

I used to be in the framers doesn’t make a difference camp but even for single player games, the choppiness of under 100fps is immersion breaking for me. Seeing the small things like wind flowing foliage smoothly just creates a more life like picture to me regardless of monitor technology and resolution.
