Could be time for a graphics card upgrade. You can get 50+ FPS with a 5700 XT or RTX 2070 Super ay 1080p on games like Assassin's Creed Odyssey, link here:

I'll confess that I'm being concerned with the reports of poor driver support and blackscreen issues. I have the a tendancy to play odd things, from Morrowind to dwarf fortress, Kerbal to Subnautica. If anyone is going to run into driver bugs it'll be me. So I worry?

Have decided to leave it a few more months. I realise the problem won't get any better, but... don't feel comfortable with the idea of screens + gcard right now. It's not a clean/simple answer - rebuilding my desk would be a right pain currently.

Also can't decide on a screen . Haven't been able to for 6 months

Problem for me is I use mine for

Games
Photography
3d design

Ultra wide 1440p and 100hz is good for games
But I saw one tonight in shop and I'm concerned about the height for 3d design

I can't judge the compromise

When marketing talks about wider screens, what they actually mean is lower screens wasting lots of desk space for little vertical image.
(and less monitor area for marketing size)

Myself stuck waiting for high refresh rate 32" 3840x2160 to not take hit in anything from current six years old 30" 2560x1600.
Maybe in later half of the year there's finally something...
